    more info please...and thanks

This may seem like a stupid or simle question, but what information do you suggest be included in a player profile that could be given to a coach at a showcase tournament if requested. Should you have video avaliable then or just paper? And thanks to everyone for all of the great advise on this board. This process gets a little scary for those of us who have never been thru it before and are just starting.

    Welcome RNR

    There are no stupid questions.
During a tournament college coaches cannot talk with any player until her team is done with the tournament.
The team your DD plays for should have a handout with all the basic information on the teams individual players. That should be enough for the tournament. I guess you could do a personal one also, but I think contact before the tournament(s) is most important as most college coaches have a list of who they want to see and the game times when they arrive at the tournament.

I have a question about videos. My DD has had a few coaches request one, but I am not very adept at that sort of thing (I still don't even have a good digital camera). Does anyone have any suggestions about having one made, and the guidelines of what is expected on the videos.

No, No way too much information. Triples, Walks, too much detail. Their main concern is GPA and SAT scores. Only information about the kid not parents, they are not recruiting you. If they want to know any of these details they will ask.

This would be a little better

    DD's name
    DD's High school
DD's positons (dont list all if mutiple positions say utility w/pitcher catcher)
    DD's #
    DD's GPA
DD's SAT (if you don't have don't worry can't take until junior year anyway)
    DD's address
DD's email address(and don't give them a my space account we set up a different account just for this they don't want to email Hot4U&mycar.com)
DD's phone # (again their cell would be the best case scenario, but home is fine too-again if you as a parent talk to the coach, that is considered a contact-they want to talk to the kid not to you about what their opinion of bunting with 2 strikes is. Once you sign then they'll talk strategy with you if they want to.)
Graduation year (not birth date as that can sometimes be confusing)
The travel ball coaches name,#, and email should be on the back of the pamplet anyway and the high school stuff(other than transcripts) doesn't matter that much.
No super acclompishments, no awards or such. The coaches will not go on the word of a piece of paper as to what kind of ball player she is. That's why they are at the showcase, to look at the kids. Always remember short and to the point. Catch their eye not bore them to death with stats. This is not baseball. And make it stand out. Hope this helps

    Just a quick note...

No piece of paper that is out for everyone to see, ever had my DDs SS# on it! TOO Risky!! Just remember these profiles are put on a table for all the coaches and other parents and such to come by pick up a copy and take with them! The information on these profiles should be short and simple like prklandsoftballdad said! Give only the needed information and nothing else! If they need or want more they will contact your DD!

    Tri-fold

We do a tri-fold, small that the coaches can stick in pocket, has a picture of ladies, class in school, name, phone # and an e-mail address, says at bottom for additional information call coach and number and e-mail provided.
The Blues will assist any of their players get a profile together but this is only used to e-mail to coaches. We also are glad to help any other player whether they are Blues or not!
