Grayben has gone into hiding, actually I have talked him into running the Rocky Mount half marathon in December, so he is jogging around the block.

Anyone else want to run it with him or want to ride it with me? :waving:

    OK.

AS you guys know, baseball is almost a year round sport so it is difficult to hold a full time job. But here goes.

    Fellowship of Christian Athletes

    Church youth group

Teaches hitting and pitching lessons to 4 kids for free. Some may ask, "What is a 15 year old doing teaching baseball?" Let me tell you, he's had so many lessons he can handle 10-12 year olds. And the kids like him. He does this every weekend. 2 kids per weekend. He loves coaching.

Works the concession stand for the youth league one night a week for free.

Started umpiring Pinto (8-9) baseball last year for free. Moves to Mustang this year (9-10). This will be for some money.

Will work concession stand this year (along with others) for GTCC's new baseball team in return for money for a new windscreen for the varsity field. I think a few other players will volunteer.

Has 6-8 yards he mows (or blows leaves) with his brother in their business called, "Yard Barbers".

Trains 3 days a week at Carolina Acceleration for both football and baseball. Works on his own minimum 5 days a week

Runs indoor track (3 days a week) in the winter to get faster (on days he is not scheduled for 8 mans).

Plays golf in Nov. and Dec. when there are no baseball games. carries a 6 handicap.

Loves to fly fish when we can get a day and get up around Boone.

Snow skis about twice a year.

Has had the same wonderful girlfriend for 30 months who he sees once a weekend and spends the other night with his younger brother.

Most importantly, makes all A's and B's in the tougher classes. I wish he did better but I recognize he is not Einstein and his schedule is slammed. Goes to tutoring 2-3 times a week. I can jump his butt only so much. I know he is doing the best he can while managing everything else.

Biggest fault; he's not a neat freak.

I love him to death and he is a wonderful son. He and his brother are my best friends. There is no place I would rather be. I wish they would be around forever.

    Just like

a grayben! When you need him he is no where to be found. When you don't he shows up and blows someone out of the water!

He has like four posts in four years. But we all can remember every one of them. Some remember more than others. I wonder why?:detonate:

I believe that is an unwritten rule shared by most HS athletes. But, they tell me the retribution comes when said athletes have their own children and yell out "you're not going anywhere until you clean your room", while you sit back and laugh

    Did someone call?

I'm here boys.:apeani: I'm trying ever so hard to take the high road, but posters like that Evil Coach 27 keep trying to bring out Mr. Hyde. My new philosophy before posting anything is WWBT (What Would Braves Think). We all love our kids. Posters who share with us more than we can stomach sometimes, love theirs as well. They just have a different way of expressing it. Nothing wrong with that at all. But, I think we all agree, please don't kill us with too many accomplishments during one posting. Spread um out some. We'll never know the difference!!

Now that that's out of the way, let me tell you about my kid..................

Takes after his mother. Enough said!!!

    Sorry Grayben

I get it done once and get it over with. :talker:

I love my son and I'm proud of him. He's a good kid. No apologies there. One thing I won't do is discuss his baseball achievements here. If he does something noteworthy then people whose opinions that count for something will bring it up.

It is shared by about 95% of HS students period. My dad use to bounce the quarter on the bed. If I did that to mines son's bed. I might get it back after his mother finishes his room. Strange thing. A couple of weeks ago he had a friend over. Just found him!!!!!!
