Future Draughn High School Basketball Fans

Like we'd expect anything else from a Freedom supporter?

 

Goodoleburkecounty if u would read the paper,You would see that mr.burleson recommended 2 principals who were from the eastern side of the county and both of them were voted down.I think people on this side of the county were shocked as well that neither of the 2 named the principal at draughn.I myself am shocked as well to see niether were named.

 

Burleson is an idiot. The only person on that board that is worth a dang is Wilkinson.

Own it

The people of Burke County have to own this one. They are responsible for voting these people on to the Board. In less than two months they have managed to create nothing but controversy, conflict and ill will. I predict that will only continue as they are willing to do anything to oust the superintendent. Since they don't have the money to buy him out, they're set to do whatever they can to make his life miserable, even to the point of voting down any credible recommendation he makes ex: not approving Doug Rhoney or Rexanna Lowman as the principal of Draughn. What a disservice to those students, parents and community! As far as the East vs West vs Central Burke... Buff, Norman and Barnard are from the West; Sain and Hairfield are from the East. The two board members who voted for Rhoney,Wilkinson and Armour, are from Central Burke.... If the two board members from the East had supported Rhoney like they told the community they would, it would have been a 4-3 vote in Rhoney's favor. What is it they say about politicians and liars??? Oh wait a minute, they're one in the same aren't they?

You're exactly right. Now I'm even more concerned at the selection of coaches for Draughn. I'm certainly glad we still have Sam Wilkinson and Buddy Armor on the board. At least we have two men that do what's best for the students. The people in the East End of the county can only blame themselves. As for David Burleson I don't think we have ever had a better Superintendent.

This isn't on David, this is squarely on the school board. For all the bitching and griping that went on prior to the election about how bad that board was - this board is worse - micro-managing the central office. I don't know Doug Rhoney, but the couple of times I have been around Rexanna Lowman I was impressed with how she ran East Burke. She is a hell of a lot better principle than Dr. Danny DeHart when he was at Freedom.

I agree with you datadiva, this board won't stop until they run the best superintendent Burke County has seen off.
