    Hey all-

I was just contacted by a gentleman who will be transferring, for work, from Portland OR to the SC area. He is struggling to find good places to find information re: SC fastpitch and information on teams. DD pitcher/2B, 93 birthdate - will finish up 14u spring/summer season in OR then (tenatively) heading this direction mid summer.

I am directing Bob (dad) out here - Help him ya'll, will ya? :)

    Hi all

First off, let me thank Dawn for calling, that will result in one less thing to be sleepless over. She pointed me here and talked about the area softball in a way that, from here, you just cant see on line. Made the idea of the move, just that much less stressful for us.

Abbey, let me read through posts and things and get a better finger on the pulse before I bug you with a bunch of needless questions.

I cant tell you how much I appreciated getting steered to this board and positive conversation with Dawn. It will just make the idea of the transition better for my daughter.

I have not yet accepted a position so I am not sure we are coming. But I have been in discussions and looks like the possibility is very high. My main concern was timing, due to when teams start looking for players for the next year. we do a lot of that sort of thing during fall ball out here. I would assume things are different. The company wont be ready for me there, before the end of July anyway, so I am preferring to keep the kid on the team she is on, through the nationals or western nationals, which ever we end up going to.

We have family in Ft. Mill, Rock Hill and FT. Lawn (out-laws). I used to live in Rock hill in the late 80's. so there is more reason to come than just work. It should be fun, more cheering parents, yeah!!

so let me check stuff out for the next day or so, and then let you know where Kim is hoping to go or what she was hoping to see.

    thanks a ton already.

    With Respect to All!.......

.......and I'll add I have no dog in this hunt, but for what its worth.......and I think its worth mentioning here......the Cape Fear Storm 18u group have all signed or have offers pending on the table. The two coaches, BTW, have DDs who have signed D1, are now in the fever pitch of loving this game and the cool opportunities out there for our kids. This new group of kids and the coaches and the $/sponsors.....AND the right direction has to be checked into by anyone not already affiliated with some of the other stud teams i.e. Blues, Flames, Cardinals, etc. ......if interested, PM me and I'll give ya'll the coaches number.

    I appreciate

All the hello’s, info and positive feedback. A lot of great info for someone who doesn’t quite have the job yet. The company has not posted them yet, and still my be a couple weeks in working, but they have stated they want me applying, so I am thinking this going to happen, but who knows. Sometimes companies can be,,,,well, companies.

I did have some one contact me, that is from the NW and moved there a few years back and has offered any assistance, understanding the differences in the areas. How much more can a guy ask for? I wish the forums here were half as positive as this one.

marlinfan1: Thanx for the insight. It’s always good to hear about orgs that take care of their players.

    cheeze105: Thank you.

EastOfRaleigh: I had to laugh a bit at this one. I would love to have said, that softball and our dedication to it, drove the timing, it is just chance that has the company wanting the move in late July. So I have the flexibility of sliding a handful of weeks, even if that means leaving Kim for a couple of weeks. Although, she will have none of that for house hunting trip. And wants me to see about tourneys at that time as well. She is ready to go. Now that’s not to say we aren’t dedicated. Summer plans and all vacations are and have been driven by whatever the tourney schedule was.

Softball Guru: most likely be taking you up on that. I am sure we will find a good home for Kim to fit in, both for the her and the team.

    Bob
