Well hopefully they'll win it this year because those things are hard to shoot on.

those rims have nothing to do with poor shooting. leave the rims- titan dome is perfect the way it is. if you can shoot it doesnt matter where you play or what the rim looks like feels like etc.

Again...It's The Silver Dome. Although its not known officially as his building, we all know Mike Silver has done more in that building and for MHS than anyone. It's the least we can do to pay him the proper tribute. Calling it "The Titan Dome" makes the building sound rather generic.

I dont think the rims have to do with shooting, Im just more worried Petey or Terrance will tear the rims off & shatter the backboards when they dunk. Like Darryl Dawkins always said "The rims only give from the front. If you dunk it from the sides, its gonna give & break. Trust me, I know!" However, the rims are about $150 apiece, I think its a worthwhile investment to have them and use them.

im pretty sure that both boys and girls play there so i will refer to it as the titan dome.
i dont see the rims and back boards shattering. dawkins tore down rims with his thundering dunks. i havent seen anyone thunder one down since the days of orlando melendez. the gym is fine as long as we keep filling it up for our teams.

Yeah, last time I checked both boys and girls play in The Silver Dome. And if you didnt know...Silver had an effect on not just the girls' teams, but also on the boys' teams as well. He was an assistant on the boys' teams for a few years - one playing for the State 4A Championship in 1976. Not to mention his successes for 32 years as the legend that he is.

We all know that those goals are a home court advantage. If you asked 100 people, 99 of them would say they'd rather shoot or have their team shoot on the breakaway rims, the other 1 person being Lloyd Church.:laugh1:

thats why its our gym freedom and east burke have the students sitting behind the goals to distract the free throw shooters. its home court advantage and if it helps us win-its worth keeping. this is really a ridicilious topic. if u asked larry bird to shoot at mcdowell im sure he could make it. ask the guards from tc roberson how they liked the rims when they won here. its an excuse for those to use. im sure lloyd wouldnt say well you know guys we lost to freedom bc we couldnt adjust to the break away rims.......

..................what does that have to do with anything? if hes your hero thats ok bud just calm down. hes not mine and if i want to call the gym its real name- titan gym then i can. i didnt see the words"silver dome" written on the floor. last time i checked the girls were still dominating like they always do.........so why are we still talking about someone that isnt around anymore. he did great things no doubt but lets move forward and maybe mention the great job franklin is doing......
