Dylan recently made a verbal commitment to NC State. Congrats to Dylan and his family. You won't find a better young man to be around on or off the field. Good luck and we all wish you the best. (His old man ain't to bad to hang with at a game either)

DYLAN BROWN COMMITS TO NC STATE

Smithfield Selma product Dylan Brown has verbally committed to play baseball for NC State University and Head Coach Elliott Avent. Dylan is a die hard Wolfpack fan so it doesn't get any better than this for him. Dylan is an outstanding young talent and he is only going to get better as he continues to play for the South Hurricanes. Dylan has great speed and also a quick bat from the left side. He has been playing with guys two years older than him since he was 13 yrs old so he very mature on the field.

(Look for a Getting to know Dylan Brown thread soon)

    Thanks

to all for the kind words.Dylan and our family are very fortunate to have good friends along the way offering guidance and encouragement. Its a long and winding road which without that type of support system I am certain he would not be in this position today.

    Re Dylan Brown

He will enjoy Coach Avent and the rest of the staff. I look forward to seeing Dylan play against my son in the Greater Neuse River Conference (hopefully my schedule will permit).

    Congrats to Dylan

I have had a bunch of people telling me about this website. Looks like there are a lot of good topics on here, and I will be checking in from time to time.

I wanted to get on here and say congrats to Dylan. He really works at the game hard. We have been in his ear a little bit about his 60 time, and he has been jumping rope, and running with the parachute a couple of times a week. Sure enough Coach Joyner had him at a 6.79 on Saturday. He has come a long way and will continue to b/c he is what I like to call a baseball rat. Congrats Dylan, and im looking forward to you wearing green and orange the next 2 years.

Welcome coach. Glad to see you on here, now we can give you a hard time once in a while, like you do to me behind the plate or on the bases. :welcome:

Wanted to share a few words on this young man. I have been around him for many years and watched how hard he has worked at the game. Great young man that would make any parent proud. Getting back to the work he has put in, I remember a couple of years ago we were playing in a tour. at the beach, all the other players are running around enjoying themselves and I looked out the window toward the beach and there is Dylan hitting plastic balls off a tee on the beach, must have been down there for an hour right by himself working in his swing. Some players like the game and love it when on the field, Dylan loves it all the time. Looking forward to watching him continue to work at the sport he loves, and sharing that with his old man.

    Good Luck Dyl man...........

Stretchy -- I have no problem with you giving me a hard time. Hopefully I wont be giving you too hard of a time this year behind the plate, or on the bases. That will be up to you, or it will depend on who we are playing, and what kind of a mood im in.

I will check you schedule carefully and if you are not matched up against a guaranteed win OR there are not a ton of hotties in the stands, I ain't calling that game!!!
