This is one of the best!

Had to suspend the "no crying in baseball rule" on this one as a tear welled in my eye while reading.
Thanks for sharing! Brings even more meaning to a new 2008 baseball season! As if I wasn't excited enough!

What a great piece of literature. Thanks for sharing with everyone. I have a feeling that a lot of us will be passing this on to others.

great post - took the liberty of forwarding to my freshman son in college (changed the HS to collegiate), because, IMHO, this applies to any baseball player who loves the game! :biggrina:

I'll bet flotg has new tires on the car and has it all tuned up and ready to be a road warrior following the bulldogs this year. I hope he has a great season.

thanks mudcat - we hope he does too, but we've learned to lower our expectations a bit over the last several years. He has definitely learned the meaning of perserverance - lol. All I know is that the boy has been working unbelievably hard, but with a squad heavy on juniors, any of those freshmen will have a tough row to hoe. The main thing is to help him stay focused both on baseball and academics (1st sem honor roll was a good start), help keep him motivated to work hard and play hard, and hopefully his time will come.

Great week of weather to make the final physical preperations of the off season before it starts anew on Monday.

    Bumped for mental preperation.
