Im just wondering.... why is hoopsfan hiding under a tree right now? If you are able to publicly call out a coach, the coach answers to it and wins two big conference games in a row, which I might add is more conference games then they won all of last year, why not publicly come on and admit a mistake? That doesn't make much sense to me. As for the people that could do a better job then Klay... I don't think you can do much better than a win, or can you?

Not that it really makes a difference, but the actual score was:
    Watauga 63
    East Burke 52

Just like what has been said, EB's season has gone from bad to worse...and I can't wait until this year is over!

    EB-WHS

My bad on the score. Watauga trailed the first half by as many as 11 or 12 before cutting it down to about 2 at half. EB struggled scoring in the second half. It may be tough for some teams to lose to WHS knowing our history. But give our girls some credit. Butler pushes the ball well and is making good decisions with the ball. Creed and Jones can play solid D on opposing point guards. They usually draw the best back court players opposing teams have. They may not be the absolute best in the conference, but the Pinedas can get to the hoop or draw fouls. They are one of the best frontcourt combinations. If Caldwell or Baird are consistent from the outside, we can stretch an opposing team's D. Perhaps other than the Pinedas' consistent play, we have had a balance of scoring all year. Mayhew and Tesh have really helped in the last two games, whereas they were struggling earlier. Keep it up. We rarely have the same players leading in scoring every night. I may be wrong, but not many teams can say that. Perhaps if WHSPioneers has the stats for the year, I'd love to see them.

From what I saw, this isn't the same EB team from last year. Their passing and execution isn't as sharp. Maybe the fire isn't there this year as it was last year. If some players are acting selfishly, perhaps the team has been encouraged for someone to step up. Attempting to step up and be a leader on a girl's team. For a guy doing the same thing, he's praised for being a leader. For girls, they seem to be selfish. I may be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. However, knowing their past, they can still be a dangerous team if they should get things turned around.

    Thanks

Whspioneers, Thanks. Looks like senior leadership in terms of points, but no one averaging more than 8 pts/game. It's a shame that we may only get two on the all-conference team. Both of the Pinedas and Baird have played three years on varsity and have been real leaders this year. Klay has done a great job this year. He probably won't even be considered for coach of the year. Perhaps another win or two and he would have been in the running.:freak:
