    ABSOLUTELY AGREE with you

I love, love, love our Middle School coach here. He believes exactly as you do - that our middle school feeds the HS and now is the time to teach kids what they need to know from mechanics to fundamentals to upper level thinking in the game. My dd thrived under his tutelage. Tough as nails, demanding...and the greatest hero in her life so far.

Keep going coach! It is coaches like you that will help this sport reach even further heights!

    Congrats, and good luck......

.....in your quest! My reply is this, ......I was a Soph., or Jr. 150 lb slotback for a Coach named Bishop Harris. He has now coached HS, College, and Pros. Anyway, I found myself one on one in 1/2 court hoops ball against Coach B. He FLAT OUT told me this about sports, "play to WIN or get off the court" Well, I played to win, as hard as I could, and that "old man" spanked my ass! The point that I learned was this......kids need coaches to teach them lessons in special ways that will only be figured out when they grow up. the kid says,"DAMN", now I've got it". .......

I agree. Don't get me started......... I have asked the school system many times why we don't have middles school softball, baseball, football or wrestling, and the excuse that is given is lack of money. However I know that not to be true....the money is being spent on other "projects". It's sad when all the other schools in counties in the area all have these middle school sports and WSFCS doesn't.

But I will say, Forsyth Co. still is able to field very competitive teams without these middle school sports that do very well in the state playoffs year after year. Maybe the middle school sports are overrated??????

Do you have another take on this?

You might want to check with your local Little League programs about running a middle school program for you in Forsyth County. The baseball programs are doing that. The local little league programs in Forsyth County area started this about four years ago for the baseball programs, but haven't offered it for softball.
The LL programs in Forsyth County that offer softball in their programs are South LL(Winston), Kernersville LL, SW Forsyth LL(Clemmons), and NW Forsyth LL(Lewisville).

Been there done that. I used to be on the board at SWFLL and just can't seem to get the same support for softball as you do for baseball. I tried to get the softball started a when the baseball program started, but only had 7 girls sign up from across the county.

With the growth of the game since then, I am sure the numbers would be much higher now. But the LL won't support it now because they feel their numbers for softball would go down.
