Preseason Polls Are Out!

Looks pretty good to me. I can't wait for the season to start.

 

Yeah, I tell ya for a pre-season poll, Impact has that right. There are some surprises, but there is not a team that doesn't deserve the recognition.

Polls are fun....keep that in mind. Now, having said that, AK is going to have a tough roll at the beginning of the season with many players playing on a playoff basketball team. Providence plays an unbelievable early schedule.

There will be a lot of teams slipping and sliding up and down the polls, but I feel for North Davidson and Rocky Mount...they got the kiss of death

 

Yep, Southerno1 will be walking on peanut shells all season.

 

I'm glad they did not rank Ragsdale above Southeast Guilford. I realize its just a preseason ranking but Southeast deserves it. 3 D1 signees plus Venable going to ECU for football who could have playe baseball somewhere. Lots of talented seniors and returning state runner-up. They deserve the recognition and respect.

 

Preseason polls don't mean much.......which they would wait until about a month into the season.

Suprised no Wake County teams in 4A, especially with where most of the guys from Impact are located. Maybe they know something I don't.

Suprised East Rowan not ranked in 3A. East returns 7 of 9 starters. Sent 3 kids to the State Games last year. Finished 2nd in the CPC 4A conference last year with 22 wins. Also, has Trey Holmes available to pitch after he sat out last year on the mound.

 

I agree Travis,,,,, I have a feeling East Rowan will be in the polls when it counts,,,,, at the end of the season!!!

Btw, glad to hear Roland is going to UNCC, he's a good'en. Fun to watch.

 

Rocky Mount being ranked #1 is nothing more than a conspiracy hatched by Coach 27. Very surprised that Wilson Fike was not ranked. They return all but one starter from a team that made it to the 3rd round of the playoffs, losing to eventual state champ CB Aycock. In the long run, the schools with the best 1-2 pitchers should be favored. In the 3A East, Northern Nash with Tyler Joyner, and West Craven with Shawn Armstrong are going to hurt a lot of folks' feelings. In the 3A West, Fred T. Foard with Andrew Wyant and Chad Rothlin shouldn't need many runs to win a lot of games. SEG, SWG, and Ragsdale will all make strong showings, and I'd have to pick one of those three to win it all.

 

Let the sandbagging begin!!!!!!

Rocky Mount - Jim Leggett , Brian Goodwin , Ben Fish , Dillon Cockrell , Grant Johnson , Chris Berry ................. etc etc etc!!!!!!!

No conspiracy here. They are loaded. They have one of the best coaches in the state in Pat Smith and they have alot of experience. They will hit 1-9 in the order and will always play great defense. They have one of the top RHP in the state in Leggett and several other arms that can get the job done. Someone has to be ranked #1 , Rocky Mount is the obvious choice.

Ragsdale , SE Guilford , SW Guilford , Northern Nash , Foard , East Rowan , Harnett Central , Wilson Fike , South Central - and a couple of more will be very good this year.

I tried to influence the results of the poll and have us ranked around #25 where we belong but Southern and Stretchy pumped us up and got us in at #4. So much for friends!

Just for fun does anyone have last years pre-season poll. How close was it?? Pacman on WFNZ has a field day with pols, so I couldn't help but wonder about this one also.

I keep everything in my sons scrapbook, so I do have it, but I don't know if it is still on Impacts website anywhere. I know they like you to provide a link and that I don't have. I will be glad to type it out if I am given the okay by the TBR admins.
