    THINK ABOUT IT !!!

I know this off the subject, but I need to comment about team workouts. I think if a kid is truly an athlete she is going to make the workouts, because it will strengthen her game. Like I read off a website once before " Winners Train, Not Complain ", and that's what I keep telling my DD, if you truly want to play ball you will work on your game to perfect it. She went to a workout the other week, and the next day she couldn't hardly move, and I couldn't resist telling her.." SEE I Told You ", boy she didn't like that at all........BUT IT IS TRUE !!!

Nothing to do with my dd but I've seen alot of this kind of thing happen in the past. Alot of times it has nothing to do with how good you are and that is a shame for all the atheletes that work hard to try and achieve there goals. I have long since graduated from school and in the real world you have to work for everything you get I don't remember much that has just been handed to me. JMHO :42:

I can not imagine why someone would not want to attend an off season workout. It's another opportunity to get better. If another player decides not to participate, I wouldn't care (except it's an indication of a lack of teamwork). I would be happy to have a structured practice to learn something new or to improve in the areas I need work.

It's a privledge offered at some schools...other players that don't have these workouts are sad that they don't.

    I feel your pain

I feel your pain becasue my DD is going thru this now. She is a soph and was told by the head coach that she is the better player at her position but he is going to start and play the other girl 90% of the time because she is a senior. I respect and admire his loyalty to the senior but it also hurts to see my DD feeling crushed by not getting the playing time she deserves. I tried to set her up for this possibility going into the season but she still had her hopes up. Its a long season so things could change but for now we have told her to keep working hard in practice and take advantage of every opportunity she gets to show him why she should be playing.

    Good Attitude Creates Good Latitude

Cockiness may get it at this level, but daddy or mommy want have anything to say when the kid gets to the collegiate level...college coaches want put up with it like some high school coaches seem to do !!! I much rather play a hard working kid than a noncomittal kid that is loathed with talent !!!

    I think...

I think that is a GREAT idea!! Who knows better than the TBR posters, what it takes to be a good coach? We can all have our checklist, we either nominate them for interviews or decline them for interviews!
You start the thread! You could name the thread QUALIFIED CANDIDATES TO COACH! Let the applicants apply!

    great potential

I agree that the two could be outstanding and have had great tb careers. Just haven't had that much hs experiece. I hope they are even better than expected. I just mean that the pitching question is a little more up in the air than recently.:peacemanmw:
