From the players of Watauga...thank you ABW. They appreciate the warning and to help them remember. They'll post it on their bulletin board

It's amazing how many first time posters we have on this thread.

Ok. I am one of those guys that love to read everyone’s opinion and rarely post so I tried not to respond to someone’s first post of questioning another teams pitching. But after rereading, maybe you really wanted to know and you were not just being smart. Watauga is actually very deep in pitching. They have around nine to ten deep that have logged numerous Ks.

    In no particular order-
Dicus – Just love the kid. You will not find anyone that wants the mound more and knows what to do when he gets it.
Wallace – Pure Athlete. Made a few changes in the off season and looks really good on the mound. + Speed. This is going to be his big breakout year! Everyone take notice.
Minford – What’s coming next Minford. How many pitches does this guy have and yes he can throw them for strikes!! This is fun to watch but hard to hit!
Lowder - ++ speed with a wicked curve. Bulldog competitor. 110% does not ever start to describe. If you could bottle this young mans attitude/drive you could make a fortune.
Hardee – Roll me a ground ball Hardee. Great control and keeps it low in the zone. What a competitor!!
Dunagan (sp?) – Great control and +speed. Had a little arm problem but I am hearing he is feeling great. If he’s back than he’s the man!
Story – Great control and +speed. Pitched a lot of inning in JV and is very comfortable on the mound. IMO he will contribute a lot.
Moyer (sp?) - This is the guy I want to see come back healthy this year. Little arm situation but I heard he was throwing well and looking great. A “Go To” young man!

Sharpe and Moore will speak for themselves. All of the above can handle the mound.

My favorite pitcher but will not see many innings is Martin. He is just not getting the looks from the coaching staff he should. I think it’s because of him being related to the head coach. Not wanting to show special attention. We pitched him in a tournament game a couple of years ago and he mowed them over. I don’t understand but the coaches know more than I. You’re the man, Mr. Martin!

I hope I have not forgotten anyone but I am sure I have. Again it's great to have the new guys from South listening.

ABW, Are you crazy? With this post you are only giving them more motivation. And believe me, they don't need any more than they already have. They have 2 different reasons for an extra special, heart-wrenching season. I have seen the effects of a team who are playing for a special reason and dedicating their season to that person. Talent is not the only thing needed to win a ballgame. Heart and desire means alot and will contribute to many of Watauga's wins this year.
I think the South Caldwell vs. Watauga games will be the best games played this year. May the best team win.

    And Braves,
You have to remain neutral. You left part of yourself in Sawmills, you know!! Or do I need to bring you pork chop sandwiches?

    Let the games begin

Your right. This is a GREAT forum. Lift players and teams up BUT please don't tear anyone down by name or team.

Let the players compete on the field while we enjoy rooting for our favorites with class and humility.
