    The school board votes on the head coach sometime on february 18th.

    I believe you are right. Tonight Carson will be named the New football coach at McDowell High. I wish him the best of luck. He has earned the right to lead the Titans.

    Well, I hope he does well and turns the program around. If not, in about 4-5 years, The Committee aka The Consipiracy will be back to do this all over again.

    During the Mike Silver debacle, the McDowell County School Board had a committee of administrators and other school officials within the county take a closer look into that situation. They recommended that Mike Silver not be retained and that Brian Franklin be hired as head coach. To my knowledge, no school board members were involved in the decision making. The board voted unanimously to accept this recommendation.

    They also were involved in the recommmendation to keep Brian Franklin as athletics director while also being the head coach of the Lady Titans' basketball team. This was a clear violation to a ruling they made several months that the athletics director could not be the head coach of a team sport. The school board then voted 8-3 to put Brian Franklin in a dual role.

    To me, it seems this "Committee" is a Conspiracy in that they made some very wild decisions. Rumors have swirled that this was a series of events waiting to happen with the Mike Silver situation and they were looking to remove Silver from the head coaching position.
