School batting helmet or travel batting helmet? I've seen both over the years and a lot of travel helmets :Reagan-hittin-head-:lalala::apeani::stirthepot:last weekend. We elected to go with all school helmets this year. They are plain, but still work.

    hard hats

I'm not involved, but if I were a HS coach, I would not allow girls to wear any helmet other than the uniform-colored TEAM helmets the high school provides. If they are not up to "standard", then get on the ball and upgrade them.

    Uniforms imply uniformity

I have taught my daughter this lesson for years now: Uniforms mean uniformity. When she puts on that school uniform she is to be uniform head to toe - Helmet the school colored helmet, uniform the issued uniform, socks whatever the school specifies and cleats either black or the school specified color. She does not and will not wear her TB gear at school. We currently even utilize 2 sets of catcher's gear: one for school, one for TB.

IMHO there is nothing worse than being on a school field watching girls wear their purple or orange, ie, batting helmet and cleats with their maroon and gold uniform. How you appear on the field is a direct reflection of your pride in that team.

    I totally agree.
I played hs ball along time ago. We all wore the same color helments, uniforms, socks, and even cleats. It bought us all together. Even the girls with long hair always braided there hair the same. We put pride in our team and the team put pride in everyone. We also ended up winning state that year. The school I went to then was and is still not associated with a great softball program. But when we played that year it was awsome. I have two daughters now that play Tb one is playing an age group up. There too the uniform represents you and your team.

even in rec ball back in the day

I remember coaching rec ball with a few TB players doing double-duty on the teams now and then.
I didn't allow the TB'ers to wear their TB helmets while on the rec ball team. Triad's post was outstanding on this.

    Agree

Agree on helmet thing! Wear the HS colors in HS and the TB colors in travel ball, no interchange! I still see kids on TB teams wearing helmets from previous team they left! Also see TB helmets worn at HS games! WRONG! Be loyal to your team.
