MILLBROOK VS. WEBB

Both teams were a little shaky defensively and did not make routine plays.Millbrook had 9 hits to 7 for Webb.Sorry I do not have names for Millbrook.For Webb,Chris Hill 2-3(2b),Andy richmond 1-4(HR),Chase Watson 1-4(2B),Ryan Allen,Seth Lumpkins, and Ryan Blackwell all added a hit.Justin Shearin pitched 3 innings,2 hits,1 ER.Dylan Newton 2IP,3k's,5 bb, 0ER.Mitchell Frazier 2IP, 4 hits,2 BB,2 K's, and 4 ER.Ryan Blackwell 1 IP, 1 hit, 1 BB,1 er. It was a little chilly , but a nice day to play and good to play someone other than ourselves.

 

West Meck – South Meck

West Meck outscored South Meck 7-5 in seven innings of scrimmage play.

Matt Harris had three hits for West including a double and a triple. Houston Wood also had a pair of hits. Catcher Austin Lackey looked sharp behind the plate throwing out 2-3 would be base stealers. Pitchers Matt Hill (2 innings) Johnny Walker (3 innings) and Jacob Grey (2 innings) all threw well allowing just five or so hits total.

Tyler Woods (2 innings), Daniel Glenn (1.1), John Coppedge (1 inning) and Joe Shealy (1 inning) threw well for South.

West Meck will scrimmage Independence tomorrow. South opens the season on Tuesday vs. Charlotte Catholic

 

That pretty much sums it up. Scrimmages are so hard to gauge because of coaches moving kids around to get a look at everybody they have. RM got good contributions from the new young guys, Collins Cuthrell, Spencer Bell, Cameron Ramsey , Chris Pittman and Gus Dimileo. Thursday RM will scrimmage Bunn at home with 3 more pitchers getting looks. Brian Goodwin, Parker Helms(so.), and Benton Moss(fr.) I'm looking forward to watching these three on the hill.

I did not have a roster for Garner and we did not keep an official score book. Garner threw three pitchers. Garner has a very good team and they are always well coached. If someone from Garner was there please post the stats for the Trojans.

 

red?

I rode by the Garner ballfield parking lot on Wed. pm and saw red uniforms vs. white & royal blue uni's., so I figured it wasn't SG on the field.
oh well, guess I made a wrong assumption. what's with the red?
