    Great players

I really enjoy keeping up with and am glad to know that if any senior has a special season he could/will be added to the watch list. I hope I get to see all of them play a few times.

    I'll take a shot

It's always dangerous and bold to try and pick favorites from a list such as this one. Each one of these kids should be congratulated for their years of hard work that got them to this point. Obviously, all these guys are outstanding players and worthy of their selection to the "watch list" and capable of a great season. But just for fun, here's my take.
Alot of the success you have as a player depends upon the quality of the team you play on and your supporting cast. Not suprisingly, 7 of the 12 candidates play on teams ranked in the top 5 of their respective classifications. Not sure how much a teams W/L record plays into the decision or whether it's based more on statistics.
With that being said, look for Tyler Hanover of the #1 ranked North Davidson Black Knights to have a banner year. His all-around play including his agrressive base running wreaks havoc on opposing defenses. Also, he's very comfortable playing on the big stage if they go deep in the playoffs.
Look for Casey Allison and Seth Baldwin to battle for the state home-run title which Casey won last year as a junior. Both of those kids can power balls to all parts of the stadium.
Garrison Lassiter and Corey Thompson have got to be at the top of everyone's list. I wouldn't want to face either of those two with the game on the line.
My darkhorse would have to be Cameron Connor of Fuquay. I love this kids make-up. He has all 5 tools. Just not sure who he has hitting behind him in the line-up.
Which brings me to my favorite Jeff May. And the reason Jeff will win is because of a kid named Pratt Maynard which is also on the list. With Pratt hitting behind Jeff, means you can't pitch around him, he'll see more fastballs and that's trouble for somebody. No one else can boast a one, two punch in the middle of their order like May and Maynard. They can turn around quality fastballs better than anyone I have seen. Their team has three quality pitchers in Pratt, Josh Darroch and Nash Blackley which means they should make another run in the playoffs.
So I say May...unless of course Coach Ferrell bats Pratt in front of Jeff, then I say Maynard. But then again....Brian Litwin is a beast at St Stephens. And Tyler Pilkington can do it all for Weddington. And how about the one, two punch of Cam Cockman and Austin Moyer at # 2 ranked SE Guilford? Ahh screw it, I give up.:smash:

Hahaha...that's how I felt, too. I believe you are right on target, though. The winner will come from a school that goes to the Championship round.

I love the M&M boys, (No, not Maris and Mantle) but close: Maynard and May.

I believe the winner will be somebody that is a position/pitcher. It seems to work out that way, but this year may be the exception.
