SA 10 BY 4 in 7 innings As always, hard to tell a lot from a scrimmage. We let all 15 players hit that were dressed for the game. We threw 5 pitchers and BY threw 4. Our pitchers had a combined total of 14 K's. The 1B from BY hit a 2 run HR in the bottom of the 1st.

    Whats with the red?

The original school colors were columbia blue , red and white. Over time the red was just forgotten and the uniforms were columbia blue and white. Then some coaches started putting navy blue with the columbia blue. Being that Coach F3 and I both played at Southern Durham and our predominant color was red we did some research and discovered that red was one of the true school colors. We decided to add it back to the uniforms a couple of years ago. The players decided they wanted to have more red in the uniform this year so we have a mix of columbia blue , red and white.

Mt. Pleasant - Ardrey Kell Scrimmage

MP/AK played 14 innings of scrimmage ball. AK scored 6 in the first and 2 in the third before MP stormed back with 11 unanswered. The score after 7 innings when most of the regulars were playing was MP 11 – AK 8.

MP definitely out played AK in the first half. Out scored them, out hit them 11-7, out gloved them 1 E vs. 8 E for AK and out pitched them. Did not have his name, but MP had a nice tall lefty that that threw very well in innings 4-6. Moved the ball in and out very effectively. Faced 2 over minimum, 0R, 1H, 1BB, 5Ks.

AK’s Zico Pasut had 4 hits in his first 4 plate appearances, including two doubles and a HR with 6 RBIs.

The second seven innings was played with more of the reserves, without umpires, and a popcorn machine for a scoreboard as AK passed for three TDs, kicked two and ran in one conversions vs. MP’s lone FG.

I believe that was Cody Walker. I'm going to post something about him later, but I'm telling everyone this is a kid that has been flying waaaay under the radar. I'm going to make it my mission that this young man gets the recognition that he deserves.

    Consider Yourself "Recognized"

Ok, Mr. Cody Walker. Consider yourself recognized. TBR exposure has a greater footprint than you realize!

    Let the season begin

Rocky Mount over Bunn today: NO CONTEST....hopefully more details later BUT I did see Brain Goodwin smoke a 5 ft 5 inch laser shot right over my head in the B slot for a rocket launched triple to right center.

SoutherNo1: fill in the details as I spent way to much time day dreaming of a hot summer day!

This is a late post - the game was played at Scotland County last Saturday 2/16.

    After 7 innings it was:
    Myers Park 5
    Scotland County 1

Both starting "lefty" pitchers were very effective. The line for Nate Cudney (MP) was 3 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 6 K. The Scotland County pitcher was excellent and I should have gotten his name - if someone knows him please give him his kudos!

I left after 7 innings, but, I was told that Scotland County dominated innings 8 -14 when the starters were out of the game.

    Scotland Lefty

The lefty for Scotland was Nick Roberts. He is a senior and a SUPER kid who transferred into Scotland from out of state the summer after the 2006 championship season and immediately got a spot on the Senior Legion team.
He does not play travel ball that I am aware of but is looking for a college home. Although he has told me of some interest he hasn't committed yet that I have heard. Nick would be a STEAL for a good college program. He has a pick off move to die for!
