This wasn't by any means an upset. It was more redemption for the one they gave away at McDowell. I'll give Freedom the benefit at their place the first time around...they flat out beat us that night.

The difference in tonight's game IMO was the play of Twitty and Barnette. Brock came out and hit his first two shots. He wanted the ball tonight...anytime McDowell can get him going and wanting it bad, it give us another dimension. I also thought he did well on the boards.

Brian Twitty played his best game of the year. He took it to the Freedom guards and in the 2nd half in particular he made some HUGE plays on both sides of the ball against Ethan Kincaid.

AC beating EB wasnt an upset either...the 2nd game went to OT @ East....

As for tomm night.....AC will have to shoot well....I dont know what the game plan was for the game @ AC a few weeks back...but Hargrave and Mayberry were floating and shooting (poorly) on the preimiter all night......It will be tough for AC but they can pull it out.....I think MD has more athletes on the bench and that will give AC trouble....AC has no true SG.

How many 3's did EB attempt and make. That's all I saw them shoot in the second half.

Not sure. I know that Dustin Beck made 7 three pointers in the game though

East Burke is another team that IMO depends heavily on the home court advantage. Take them away from the friendly confines and they are an average team. Shuffler took himself out of the game by taking far too many shots outside his range. Central running that pass-and-cut type of motion offense got a good number of inside looks early. Then Rauscher took off from the perimeter as the game wore on. The defense as a whole for Central was very good.

Agree with CHIMIKE3. Congrats to the Cougars and Coach Wills (and staff). I hope they don't settle for just making the final. Good Luck guys!!!

I'll have to give AC credit they came out and played their game last night. East Burke couldn't throw the ball in the ocean. This is probally the worst shooting night these boys have had in years. Thank goodness Beck was hitting. As far as Shuffler he shot the ball within his range. He's consistantly hit 3's all year long. I don't feel he was out of his range. They just looked flat all night. Best of luck to AC tonight. It should be a great game.
