    smart as an Owl????

We had an "owl incident" here at my house a year ago. One morning as we were all racing out of the house to get to work/school our two "wiener" dogs started raising a ruckus out at the batting cage. I looked out there and there was a huge owl in the cage! After taking one of my kids to meet their ride to school I came back to the house and walked over to the cage. "Mr. Owl" was sitting on the L screen looking a bit ruffled. How he had gotten in I have no clue. All the sides were down, so there was no opening that he could have flown into. Any way, I raised up one side so he could get out but he kept trying to fly up instead of sideways to get out. I finally had to raise all the sides of the cage, as he watched me from his perch now on a batting tee, before he finally figured out how to escape his confinement.
If owls are as smart as they say, this particular owl must be the one that rides the "short bus"!

If you catch him, you better not let the wildlife service find out. Big, big fine.

the owl fishing story reminds me of the first time i caught a king mackerel. i am not a fisherman, nor do i like fishing. i love going going on the boat out to shackelford or one of our shoals, but i'm trying to catch something much different.

anywho, we were coming through beaufort on the way back into mhc on afternoon. we were following behind a couple of bigger boats coming back to the docks from charter fishing. when all of a sudden bang...a king had jumped out of the water on our port and slammed into the inside gunnel. it was a like a 30+ pound king. unreal

The funny thing about this is that I IMed Braves Jr and he said it all happened, man they must have some good stuff. I wonder where they get this stuff from.

I do not believe for one second you caught a freakin owl with a rubber wieght.

BTW Braves, we owe you, paying for our freakin meal. But thanks a lot for doing that and we will have to get hte families together again to go out. A lot of fun catching up and spending some time with the Fam's. Brought back the good times
