    Maiden 7 West Lincoln 2

The score was Maiden winning 7-2 against a good West Lincoln team. Cadyn pitched 3 really good innings. The Blue Devils hit Jake Watts hard tonight getting 4 runs in the first and 1 in the second. He is a good pitcher and I am sure he will bounce back. The Maiden hitters had a good night with 12 hits...Shelton 2-4,2b-1b; Sizemore 3-4,2 2b-1b; Kelly 2-4,2 1b; Lineberger 2-3,2b-hr; Pearson 1-2,bb-1b. It was a good team effort tonight and hopefully the Devils will continue to roll with this win. GO BLUE DEVILS!!!!

Noticed the field improvements going on there. Looking good. The boys at Parkland have been at it. Got the side fencing put in and blechers set last night after practice. Harper has really done an outstanding job with this project. With more planned after the season is over.

    Davie vs West Davidson

    Davie 5
    West Davidson 3

Ryan Carter pitched 5 innings and picked up the win, had 8 K's and 2 walks, Zach-Russell Myers pitched the 6th and Clint Howell pitched the 7th and had 2 K's.
Davie had key hits from Carter, Myers, Benge and a few others.
Not sure who the lefty starter was for West but he held Davie to 1 run until the 4th inning when Davie broke it open with 4 runs.

    Hopewell over Berry

Hopewell started the season on Monday (2/25) with a lop-sided win over Berry. The game was moved to Monday, instead of playing on Tuesday as scheduled, to allow for the first round of state basketball playoffs being held at Hopewell (Hopewell vs. Weddington). Berry continues to struggle with players who are fundamentally sound, but as in previous years, they don't give up. The Titan Seniors (who played the first few innings and then were replaced by the younger players on varsity as well as several brought up from JV) had a big day at the plate - Adam Waters, Blake McGee, Rusty White, Jonathan Fisher, Cody Murtle all having multiple hits, including 2Bs and plenty of RBI's. Jack Lane, senior RHP, had a impressive day on the mound and at the plate as he had multiple hits, including a HR. He threw all five innings, and accomplished throwing a no-hitter (and very close to throwing a perfect game).

Next game up for Hopewell will be very different as they travel to Myers Park on Friday.

    Butler @ North Meck

    Butler 1
    North Meck 7

North Meck looked solid in all phases and made few (if any) mistakes in the first game of the year. Butler did not hit the ball well and made a couple of errors in the field that added to the NM run total. Butler's highlights were few but as follows: Glass 2/3, Tewell 1/2 (3B), Moore RBI.

    Lefties on the hill

Pitching matchup of Tate Parrish vs Tyler Joyner should make this a great game to watch.
