I can see you have never attended an early March night game in the mountains, lol. We have to put heaters in the dugout.

Good thing you only had to play 4.5 today.

Mt. Tabor looked good today. Matt Batts threw very well. No runs through 5 innings, 3 hits, 1 ROE, 1 walk. Pretty dad gum good in 31 degrees and 20 MPH winds. 2nd pitcher for Tabor had a smokin' fastball but had a couple of wild pitches/passed balls. In defense of the catchers there was a soccer game going on at the football field which is directly behind centerfield. The stadium lights were shinging right at them and right in the slot that righthanders threw from.

David Coffey threw very well for Ragsdale. 5 2/3rds, no runs, 3 hits, 1 walk, 1 ROE. This is a kid that will probably never play showcase but I hope he gets found. I can't say much but this kid can pitch. 9-1 last year, all-conference as a soph.

Mt. Tabor looked very good. No one deserved to lose this game.

Sounds like a prospect to me

Kirk, why no showcase for him? I can find him a team if needed.

    Eric Shuford "No Hits" Cherryville

Burns beat Cherryville this afternoon 1-0 with Eric Shuford throwing a no hitter at Cherryville. The perfect game was broken up in the bottom of the 7th on an error. I'm not sure of other stats from the game, but we probably have the first no hitter of the young season. GO DAWGS!!! and Congrats to Mr. Shuford and the defensive effort from the Burns Bulldogs (2-0).

You guys havent seen non mountain cold till you come to Roxboro!! Ask some of the members that know what i am talking about. 30 degrees at end of game with 20-25 mph winds.

Will submit more details later as I left the book at school. I remember that outfielders Craig Reid (3-4) and Zack Oakley (4-5, 2B, 3B, 4 RBI's) were the leading hitters and Stephen Wright (JR/RHP) earned his 1st Varsity win.

    Person 1-0
    Cardinal Gibbons 0-1

Person travels to Oxford to play JF Webb on Thursday and to Cedar Ridge on Friday.

Asheville High pitcher Zach Hall threw a six inning no hitter in a 10-0 victory against Pisgah. I wasn't at the game so I don't have any offensive stats. I think the NO-NO is the only stat that matters. Hall is a transfer from Enka that we are very happy to have at Asheville High.
7 K's and one walk, no runner advanced past 1B.
