    Butler vs Freedom

    Butler 52
    Freedom 50

Here are the UNOFFICIAL stats - I apologize ahead for any mistakes
    Freedom
Ford 23 points (15 in first half)
    Chapman # 40 - 2 points
    Surrett - 4 points
    Connelly - 8 points
    Walker # 32 - 6 points
    Brown #24 - 3 points
    Conley #20 - 4 points

    Butler
    Stewart #5 - 13 points
Newman #12 - 2 points - left after hurting her wrist
    Diggs #31 - 0 points
    Watkins #32 - 15 points
    Orr #40 - 6 points
    Dunovant #24 - 8 points
    Blanton #33 - 5 points
    Geisler - 2 points
I am missing one somewhere - not sure where!

52 - 50 with 8.1 seconds left and Butler misses 2 free throws. On the second miss, Freedom dribbled down court and Ford never touched the ball. One shot by Connelly and a miss - Butler with rebound. Time ran out.

    Mcdowell will win this one!

Look for East Meck to be very special next year - but I think Mcdowell will win by 10!

Freedom will return strong next year.

Bulter returns all but 2 starters (combined for 8 points tonight).

West Charlotte returns the majority of their team - 4 starters returning.

    East Meck returns 4 starters.

Next year will be very exciting!

I should have stayed at home with 101 fever but couldn't miss this matchup and the opportunity to see Ford play again. Connelly was more impressive this game as compared to the Bojangles Shootout. Coach Fox coached a good game, with excellent use of timeouts. Freedom used the low post very well, with Ford taking advantage of a defensive rotation and finding an open low post player quite often.

Butler's Stewart went out of the game in the 2nd quarter with 3 fouls (approximately 3 1/2 minutes left in quarter) and Butler leading 20 - 19. I expected Freedom to really capitalize on this and take a lead. In fact, Butler held steady and led by 3 at the half. This was a dangerous time for Butler and a momentum swing when they held Freedom in check.

Here is the deciding factor in my opinion, Butler's guards combined scored one more point than Ford. Bulter's center - Watkins was the difference maker!

    Excellent game!

I don't know. Things were very plodding tonight. In the old days, teams from other conferences usually never heard the gun go off at the Silver Dome. A lot of running, a lot of points, and a lot of noise!!!!!!!
