I thought this thread might be about players that likely will not play (or don't plan to pursue) college ball, but are / will contribute significantly to their HS team's success.

But on second thought this could be a long list if you considered it that way. whatever.............

 

No, actually it was for girls who want to play at the next level, are playing competitive travel ball, but go to a school not known for softball.

 

This is a little off track of this thread but everybody that goes to a school where the coaches truely love the game and studys the game and has a passion for this great sport needs to be so thankful because beleive me it can be alot worse.

Our coach last year was and is a great man(I have a lot of respect for him), but had a lot of family problems across the state and he was just wanting the girls to have fun(life's too short). This year our new coach is all business and our numbers have suffered as "play time" is over. She means business and will not handle them "acting a fool".

It is funny because you have seen girls get to start or play certain positions because" it has been like that for years", but not this year. She has the girls trying out for their "right" to start every practice. **Granted we are young with only 2 seniors**. The girls must prove themselves EVERY practice. Attendance, attitude, desire to get better all come into play. We have a couple who are equal at certain spots and she said," whoever hits, gets to start". Sounds like a good year already.....
