Try this, go to a game and take 5 scorebooks and give to 5 different people and see how they each score the game.

Some people think a hit is anytime they get on base especially if your kid is the one hitting.

Now if your kid is the pitcher, then anything close will probably be scored an error.

Okay Great Post --- I Feel Your Pain !!!

If a ball is fielded cleanly by a fielder, and the runner beats out the throw lets say to first base considering the throw is accurate, and the first baseman is in position at first base it is a HIT (JUST ONE EXAMPLE)!! If the ball is hit up the middle hard and the pitchers glove touching it but can't field it, most likely it will be put in the books as a HIT!! ( Another Example). If the ball is hit up the middle and the SS dives and gets a glove on it and attempts to throw the kid out at first, but the runner beats the throw it will usually be scored as HIT!! I agree stats can be misleading,we had a parent last year that would score a hard hit between the third baseman's leg as a hit.......NOT !!! So I will have to agree if a college coach looks at a kid's stats my question to him or her would be "Are you Seeing What Is Real or Fabricated??" Then I would say come out and view this kid that you are interested in and see IF SHE IS THE REAL DEAL AS HER STATS SAY !!!

    Once---

Once the runner successfully rounds first in a normal situation whatever happens after that doesn't define a hit or not..She is credited with a single and thrown out at 2nd!!

    ok

OK I see your point and I don't attend TB games. I just know in the later stages of the HS playoffs there are a lot of 2-1, 1-0 etc games sometimes going multiple innings to determine a winner, and K's in the teens or maybe 20's.
