hunter huss (1-1) finally broke into the win column against highland tech (2-1) tonight handing them their first defeat with an 8-7 victory.

    wp - taylor grigg

listen to this: taylor jordan, freshman catcher, 4 for 5 with two home runs, two doubles and 7 rbi's to lead the huskies....remember that name folks..

this is by far the best highland tech team that i have witnessed in the last seven years.

    AK vs Indian Land

    Ardrey Kell 8
    Indian Land 7

I'm glad Indian Land is in South Carolina cause those girls can play! Roller coaster game -- AK down 2-0; AK up 7-2; Game tied 7-7; Ak goes ahead in bottom of 6th.

Providence @ Weddington (SW Conference Game)

    Providence 5
    Weddington 2

    WP: Leah Quant (3-0)
    LP: Taylor Morris (1-2)

Pitcher's dual through the 5th inning. Both pitcher's had 12 K's and threw a very nice game.

Speaking for PHS: Leah Quant is one to watch. She has elevated her game to a new level. Many compliments from other coaches & umpires on her game so far this year. She is throwing well, but more importantly having a great time playing. Kids played nice defense and many contributions from the entire team on this win. Missy Wills & Erin Quant had a great defensive day. Lauren Habig and Maddie Fletcher took some great at bats today. Maddie hit one of the hardest balls back at the pitcher I have seen in a long time. The ball caught the pitcher if that makes sense for a L-1.

    Leading hitters for PHS:
    Brami 2/4 2 runs scored, 1 RBI
    L. Quant 2/4 2 runs scored, 1 RBI
    E. Habig 1/3 1 run scored, started ralley for PHS in the 5th with two outs

Weddington had some kids with nice swings, aggressive. Their hitters:
    Cashion: 1/2 2 RBI
    C. Baker 2/3

Cashion made a few nice plays at SS, as always. Great player. Taylor was strong as always on the mound.

As always the SW is going to be a great Conference!
