    Difference...

    Here is the difference:

Yell, fuss, rant, rave, whatever, BUT don't make it personal and don't carry the mistake forward and talk about it for weeks and weeks and weeks.:blauwoog: Beat the kid up, fine, but LIFT them back up with positive comments after that so it doesn't start hampering their other areas......:pet:

If a kid knows you love them and that is why you are getting on them, they will run through a brick wall if you ask them.....but if they feel like they can NEVER do anything right, you will lose them.....

NO matter, Male or Female. :kid:

1.) Maybe she's playing defense and the coach is in the dugout.
2.) Maybe she's batting and the coach is in the 3rd base box
3.) Maybe he has softly taught this skill over and over and talking did not work.
4.) Maybe a player is mentally checked out and cheating her teammates by thinking about the weekend's upcoming date.
5.) Maybe the coach wants to get the attention of the whole team, not just one girl.

What's wrong with yelling occassionally? They can handle it. They are not going to break in two or melt. Sometimes it is part of teaching, motivating, etc...

jfagala is correct - you also handle it after the fact but there is nothing wrong with yelling as long as it is for the right reasons and done the right way.

as long as there is night and day, there will always be different ways to coach a team. i think that everything that could possibly be said has been in this thread, so before it goes south, lets close it......
