There's no way of knowing without all of the stats. The McDowell News didnt record statistics of games prior to 1980. Names that might come to mind would be Tammy McEntire, Tiffany Stacey, Jennifer Brooks, Anna Atkinson, Emily Lovik, and the list goes on and on...

Congrats to all who made ALL- CONF...

I'm not 100% sure, but we are thinking Ali has already passed the scoring mark. Got people trying to do some checking to be sure. Wish everyone has kept good records

The list that could have as many points as Washington may be shorter than you think.
To get 2000 pts a kid has to play 28 games per year and avg 18 ppg
or if they only play 3 varsity years then avg 24 ppg-
so in the post jr high era- has any on your list avged 18 for 4 yrs?(maybe there senior year only) or prior to 1994 avg 24ppg for all 3 years? I highly doubt it.
I would say Washington's your girl.

you have to remember dribbles, the lady titans play alot more games than a regular team would. they have on a normal year all the christmas tournament games, conference tournament games, and all the way atleast to the regionals and in those specific years as the players were playing earlier most went all the way to the state championships. I would bet that there have been a few 2000 point scorers. you are correct though it may be shorter than we would expect.

yeah a regular team would play 24 plus playoffs- so 3 (with a bye 2) conference tourney games, and 3-5 State playoff games and you have avg of 28-30 games in a good year. I know FHS has never had a 2000 pt male or female and i doubt mcdowell has either) Washington would have had she played varsity her freshman year.
I'd say Chris Moore- may be FHS's but could be Casey Rogers since he started for 4 years. Ali Ford will blow by 2000 early next season , barring an injury, due to the fact she had so many freshman points.
I still say Washington's it, she posted plenty of 20+ games.

Kurie Washingon might be the McDowell All-Time scoring leader by significant margin. I was just looking back at some archived info and Anna Atkinson (a four year starter) was approaching the 1500 point plateau as the regular season of her senior year was ending. Infact I'm not 100 percent sure she reached 1500 when her career came to an end. Anna's backcourt mate, Emily Lovik, (another four year varsity player) finished even farther back in the rankings (anywhere between 1200-1300 points is my guess). Jennifer Brooks played I know at least three years as a varsity player, her numbers may be close to Atkinson's numbers. Tammy McEntire and Tiffany Stacey played at a time in which I didn't follow the Lady Titans so I couldn't give an accurate enough depiction of where they may have fallen in the all-time ranks.

Jenis Grindstaff had 2,102, but as far as I know he is the only one.
