    My "boys" week

Swain defeated a good West Henderson team on Thursday 7-3. In his first HS start, Jr. 1B Nick Lyons delivered a 2 out line drive to plate the go ahead runs in the 3rd inning. I believe first time in history that Swain had defeated West in baseball. Swain was named the Asheville Citizen Times Team of the week. Proud of all the young men on that team!

My son, Josh Allman, threw a complete game against West, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits with 9 K's. He was named the ACT player of the week. Proud of him!

Taking pride in someone's achievements and accomplishments to me isn't bragging, saying mine is better than yours or more important than yours, or showing arrogance is bragging. Everyone here can tell their child's accomplishment and I am pretty sure everyone here will enjoy their achievements with them and noone will say mine is better.

That is exactly right. Fortunately, most on TBR are mature enough to understand that and post accordingly. It has never been a point of yours is better than mine.

I think a good analogy is we are a family and we like to know how our other kids are doing

Today mine got back in the groove. Let's see a walk, hit by a pitch and a three run shot over the left field wall. Very good night behind the plate.

    Lil Jon

Had a pretty good night going 1-3 with 2 rbi's. I was really proud of his defense. 2 on, no outs, bunt situation. Bunt goes up, layout dive, grabs it, throws from knees to 2B to double off runner. I am proud of the young boys, Adam Griffin 2011, Tyler Alberts 2010, who are hitting in the 4-6 holes. Go Heels!

    My son

My son cleaned his buddy, Will's, room this weekend because I know how much he loves and appreciates Will's mom and dad for putting up with lots and lots of messy and hungry teenage boys that come in and out their revolving door! Will's mom, who is no doubt a living saint, will actually feed (I mean get up and cook a meal!) these guys at all hours of the night!!! If you have a teenage boy, think of the mess in their room X8! Rumor has it that my son actually moved furniture and used glass cleaner. I consider that quite an accomplishment!

My Son 03.17.2008 v Durham Jordan

My son got the start on the mound against Durham Jordan. Pitching line:
4.1 innings, 19 batters, 3 hits, 2 runs, 1 ER, 3 K's, 1 HR, 2 BB, and 1 HBP. He's on a 75 pitch pitch-count - removed on the 76th pitch. Left the game with the score 2-1 Jordan. Knightdale got the lead 4-2 in the 5th but lost 5-4.

Good news is he pitched well in front of his future college coaches although he was 0-1 at the plate :-(.

It was a very good night for the Mustangs. They did get the win. A lot to one I think. Will try to get a box score post later today.
