Imo, yes it its worth the expense. While I do not have it myself, I have seen it. It is a great tool to show a player where they are and where they need to be. Gives great comparisons with the player and some of the best hitters in softball and baseball.. But don't take my word for it, ask Wndmllr, he uses it and can give you many more examples.

Tried the above drills today in practice and all of the players seemed to do much better. Also tried Rodney's tip for my DD, WOW big difference in her swing today. Tomorrow in game situation will tell all.

    BMac is a genius!!

Very good observation Bmac. I took that photo. It was a 3 run Homer. A beautiful swing......at a really good time. Here is the sequence, including the celebration at the plate.

    ...and I'll add....

....that timing is everything in hitting and thats what pitchers are trying to disrupt. Batters have had flaws that take them out of their "timing/power zone" since the game was invented. If if its not one thing, then its another. Thats just the dynamics in the art of hitting. How to correct one problem might create another. ...When I was at ECU, our coaches taught to close your stance, take a minimal step towards the plate, not the pitcher, and try to control your contact over the plate and not in front of it. I hated it, because I was too skinny a kid to have the strength to hit hard without using my motion and body weight. Well in time I got a little used to the idea and realized that a controlled, compact swing, one from point A to point B, has everybit the power if not more than, wailing back and trying to land a haymaker on the ball. I. E. Maybe try closing in your stance, front foot forward, go back to the basics as to knocking your knuckles, laying your bat on your shoulder, and lifting it off when you approach the ball. Keeping it simple always works. Going back to the fundamentals always works. Lastly, I can't help but feel in my minds eye how a swing is when you're out front. Inevitablly, I feel my hands extending away from my body, losing all power.

    Genius.....Not Hardly!

Thanks for the kind words, but here are many on this board who have been involved in softball and baseball for a long time who know a good swing when they see it. WindMllR for one, can teach and breakdown a swing as well as any of the best hitting instructors in the country.

    Great pic's!

Bmac - Thanks, DD went 3-4 tonight!

I told her your "coaching points" yesterday. She said she was really focusing on seeing the ball release from the pitcher's hand prior to starting her stride and tried to hit it hard up the middle.

She singled past 3B, popped up to the catcher, drove a single off the 2B bag and doubled off the CF fence tonight. I appreciate the pointers.

Wow, great to hear! But your DD gets ALL the credit! She made the adjustment and has the talent. Sometimes it just takes a different perspective to make a differerence.

    Hope things keep going well.
