    Un...be...lieve...able!!!!

The only one's that believed Watauga would win were the Watauga coaches and players

For a game with all the hype; this one lived up to it. To the Pioneer fans this was more important win than the App St/Michigan win.

Congratulations to both teams for providing a classic. I can hardly wait for Part II

Sorry to disagree, but I've watched alot of baseball and
Watauga had three hits-(Martin,Church, Hardee) not four
South Caldwell had zero hits not one.
The ground ball to Moore was a glove-side chest-high chopper that hit squarely in his glove. It was by no means too hot to handle.

Moore's glove hand is his left hand (throws right) so that's on the 1B side. Moore had to reach across his body with his left hand, the ball ticked off his glove and went to Hardee at SS. The ball was hit on the 3B side of the mound.

WHS had 4 hits. None of them were disputable. While I agree that the play was disputable, it would have been an tremendous play for Moore IMO, to come from the first base side of the mound (his follow through carrys him toword first) and make the play, the ball hit off the end of his glove. Thats why it went to short. If it hit him squarly in his glove, it would have come back in front of Tyler.

Thats why baseball scoring if objective. The South Caldwell scorer, myself and Coach Dunnigan (who keeps our book) agreed on the scratch hit.

BTW-Which Pioneer hit would you disagree with?

I think Tyler's follow through on a breaking pitch puts his glove on the right side. It looks that way from the stands.

If you are calling Cal's first ab an undisputable hit, then I guess we have no
    common ground for a discussion.

Its not that we cannot debate it. Its that I just never remembered it being something that was close to call. I don't even remember the specific hit. I just remember there wasen't a debate about it.

rule on ball deflecting off pitcher's glove

There actually was a hit for S.C. Tyler Moore reached for a ball that was hit. By rule, this play cannot be ruled an error as it deflected off his glove and his deemed a hit.

I am neither a SC fan or Watuaga fan but went to the game as a baseball fan and a recruiter. The game lived up to the hype and both Moore and Messer pitched an outstanding game.

Bottom line is SC made a mistake and Watuaga took advantage of it. You have to get outs when they are given to you. But you also have to give Watuaga credit. They got a big hit when they needed too and SC did not. They had their chances too.

The rematch should be and outstanding one!!
