How about smart. Runners on 2nd and or 3rd each time + Richie will be drafted = Pretty easy decision

    Hopewell over Vance

    Hopewell - 12 Vance - 1 (5 innings)

    WP - Murtle
    LP - Tyson

Lopsided game with most Hopewell starters being pulled in the 3rd inning. Main event for the evening was a 2 run HR by Adam Waters. Coach Culicerto for Vance is doing pretty well with the talent that he has, with several of the boys swinging a pretty good bat, and the infield making some nice defensive plays. Disappointing for the conference that a school the size of Vance doesn't have more players come out for baseball, which would not only allow them to field a JV team to build their talent level, but would also allow the Varsity squad to become more competitive. Hopewell moves to 8-1 and will play next week in a 2-day tournament at Lincolnton High School on 3/24 & 3/25.

I've seen a lot of long home runs hit in all my years watching High School baseball, but this evening at the SM/Butler game Mr. Tyler Tewell hit a BOMB to right field that actually cleared the back stops for the practice pitching mounds at SM. Anyone that knows this field knows how far a shot that is. This young man is a PLAYER!

Jeff Barkley Jr. (junior) started the game, followed by John Coppedge (senior) and then Tyler Woods (junior) finished the game.

I think if anyone is that smart, they should stick to chess.
Whatever happened to the Code of the West, where courage and fair play were an unwritten rule ?

    Ragsdale 4, Randleman 2

    Randleman 0-0-0-2-0-0-0 2-2-1
    --Ragsdale 0-1-0-0-3-0-X 4-7-1

    WP Bennett Hixon, 2.1ip, 0 hits, 1SO, 0bb
    LP Tyler McSwain, 4.2ip, 6 hits, 3SO, 2bb

    For Ragsdale:
Kyle Brandenburg, 1/3, sac, rbi, run
    Ryan Andrejco, 2/3, rbi
    Nate Cash, 1/3, rbi, run
    Cody Myers 1/3, rbi
    David Coffey, 1/3, double, run

Good ball game on a blustery night in Jamestown. Nick McBride got the start for Ragsdale. He was pitching well until he lost the plate in the fourth. He was down 2-1 at the time and after two quick outs he was pulled after he walked the bases full. He left having given up only two hits but one was a two run single and had the five walks. Hixon came in and shut the door the rest of the way.

Ragsdale won it with three runs in the fifth. David Coffey led off with a double to right center. Desean Anderson sacrificed him to third, then Kyle Brandenburg got the big hit to score Coffey and knot the game at two. McSwain then struck out Ben Fultz, but Nate Cash and Ryan Andrejco had back to back singles to chase McSwain. Hixon has pitched very well for Ragsdale. 2-0 on the year now and probably leads the team in innings pitched, almost all in relief.

    Ragsdale is now 9-1, 5-0
