Do the stats accumulated for a player on the JV team count for career High School stats? Just asking as my dd had 4 homeruns this week but three of them were with the JV team and one was with the Varsity team. Career stat wise, does she have 1 or 4 homeruns?

My best educated guess would be that only Varsity stats count for things such as all conf. voting and "official" stats. There are no playoffs or post season in JV and no standings at all not to mention the difference in ability of most players. this is why I feel that only Varsity stats count. My personal opinion is that Official HS stats is an oxymoron due to the wide range of ability of the people keeping the books.

    HS Stats: Not really meaningful

Some HS stats are virtually meaningless (ERA, Batting Average). Probably the most reliable numbers are runs scored and strikeouts as they are not subject to scorer interpretation.

....and what a HR it was!!!!!!.....

.....hey folks, check this out.....top of the 7th, score tied 5-5, 2 outs bases loaded, ball is hit by a RH to rightfield, almost caught, BAM, kicks hard towards the RF fence, all three runs score. Millbrook 8 Broughton 5. Bottom of the 7th, Landon Warren, single to left. Next batter swinging, LW stealing, ball is hit in the 1st - 2nd hole, LW scores. Jo Zachmeyer, sacs, moves runner over, 1 out, next batter bleeds a texas leaguer for a hit, Becca Davis draws a walk, FRESHMAN, Kirby Zachmeyer, in her first varsity game cranks out a 210 shot for a walk off HR!

    It was a hit, AND......

.....how else would it be scored? The fact that it was almost caught was awesome!!! It was such a timely HIT, that it brought all the runners in to score and damn well take the wind right out of our kids. When this freshman, Kirby Zachmeyer connected on a pitch thrown by Abby Grant, an awesome pitcher, to give a 1-7 team a win was really cool!......I know where you're trying to go here.

    Almost Caught.....

.......the ball hit to the rightfielder was one that would not be caught by very many players. Given the circumstances of the game, the RF gave her ALL to get the last out, and preserve a tie game. What a great effort by a kid who doesn't play TB, and is giving her best in HS because she wants to be a part of the team. Some teams, ours is one of them, don't have a lot of TB kids to perpetuate a big time winning program. We've been to the state playoffs once in our 6 yr. history. What we do have is a bunch of classy young ladies attending one of, if not the most prestigous HS in NC. I'm damn proud of all of them. Now Thats A HIT!

    YEP !!!

YEP SOMETHING ABOUT THOSE BECCA'S----Newcomer Rebekah Reaves appears to be fitting in nicely with the Piedmont High softball team this season.
She probably gained some popularity after hit-ting the game-winning home run against Sun Valley on Thursday. Reaves, a sophomore, homered in the bottom of the seventh to complete a 4-3 come-from-behind home win over the Spartans.
