Young Guns

I know HS ball is in full swing.

Just wanted to see some of the names of the up and coming young ladies to look out for this summer in TB. I know that typically the 12U and 14U age group is where some of the fundamental skills and also the "vision" begins for playing at a higher level. I know how important these age groups were for my DD......probably yours too.

Lets hear it for the young ones too!

 

Cardinals

The 14 & Under Cards are going to be pretty stacked. They are playing both 14 & 16U tourney's. A lot of talent on that team and most of those kids are key contibutors to their very successful high school teams already. Here are the ones I actually know the names of so not leaving anyone out on purpose. Heard the entire team is very talented from top to bottom.

Erin Quant (Providence)
Elana Covert (Will be @ Providence next year)
Stephanie Wood (Ardrey Kell)
Caitlin Kurtz (Marvin Ridge)
Erin Caton (Marvin Ridge)
Chealsea White (East Rowan)

 

How many Cardinal 14U teams are there? I heard there were 2 possibly 3. If so, who are the coaches and where are they located?

I believe there are two, one out of Charlotte and not sure where the other one located. The one in Charlotte is the one I spoke about. I believe the Head Coach for the CLT Cards is Carol Kurtz.

 

Carol's team is the Cardinals-black and I coach the Cardinals-Red out of Clemmons (we have girls from 4 counties).

We are a young 14U team as most should still be playing 12U. We have a hard working, talented team and other than that, we prefer to stay "under the radar"

I am a mother of a 10 year old that I belive is a young gun. She plays 12u hits to the fence, pitches, awsome 3rd base and can get the ball in from the fence at center field almost all the way to the plate. She has gotton on base 8 out of 10 times. I am not trying to brag, but..... for a 5th grader I belive that is pretty good. She will not be able to play school ball until 7th grade so she has some time to get better.

 

Karley Harkey, and Timber Davenport and are just a couple of 14 U's from the Piedmont Storm that we are looking forward to having up at North Iredell next year. Good Luck this year guys.

Not trying to BRAG !! Why would we think that ?? But has she every won a State Championship @ 10 & Under??..I got you there !!! I'm just picking at you, I encourage all you parents to brag on your kids,and love them, because once they get to 16 and older, mom and dad are 2nd to friends !!! I sometimes wish my DD was 10 & Under again !!! Good Luck to your DD as she journeys through the travel ball years !!! I have 2-1/2 more years until my DD graduates, then I just might coach a 10 or 12 & Under Team just for the heck of it !!!
