    Crow Hop

I've seem a few pictures of Kat Osterman and Jennie Finch flying pretty high on a pitch. I don't think they hop/plant then leap. It's just the intial push from the rubber.

    Agreed but...

...that doesn't make it okay. Everyone should have to follow the rules! Just because you swing the bats, hit the ball hard, and beat them doesn't mean that it is okay for them to pitch illeagally.

:agreed: but if you are going to get the call don't wait till the 3rd or 4th inning and expect to get the call do it at the start of the 1st and if you don't get it then play the best you can with what has been dealt to you !!!!!!

    Yep

Absolutely agree. If you wait, it makes it seem like you are complaining because you are losing or the game is closer than you would like it to be. You need to point it out as soon as it happens and preferrably between innings when you can pull the ump aside so it doesn't look like you are trying to show them up. I have found some are much more receptive when you just happen to mention it between innings...

The less you try to embarrass an umpire the more cooperation you will get from him/her. If you are yelling "ILLEGAL" pitch, you will almost guarantee no call. But if you politely, out of ear shot of anyone, point it out to an umpire, you will get a great more consideration for your concerns.

It is always amazing the attempts to humiliate an umpire by a coach - they place their ego over the best interests of their team.

I was attending a fall game at UT the opposing coach complained to the Umps, his comment to her was,"she is working on it"

    Illegal

Don't know exactly who that is for USA but she is clearly illegal. But ya know it won't be called as it should.
