    Thanks for posting that...

This may be of some help, but often times coaches dont report games to the N&O so they are unable to accurately keep up with standings. Maxpreps.com has a good site, but again coaches don't report. Shoot even schools in the PAC-6 dont always report, and it is part of our conference by-laws which aren't always enforced. For me to keep up with the PAc-6 i have to go to various sites, and compile results or watch the newspapers and hope I get lucky. Thenly time they are accurate is when they play us I always get records.

Ya know part of coaching is having a rapport with the media, actually a good one. Coaches need to work with the media. We as coaches are the Sports Information Office for our team and sport. What's wrong with mama and daddy reading about their son in the paper? What's wrong with people all over the state knowing that little Steve is batting .400 with 10 HR and 25 RBI's, or that Tom is 5-0 with a .025 ERA and 45 K's as a pitcher? Are coaches afraid that someone will look at stats and get some kind of scouting report? The game still must be played between the lines...

Enough of my venting... maybe we should start a thread entitled: "The Responsibilities of a High School Baseball Coach" So ppl will see all HS coaches do!!

    When Playing at home

I am always tight, 280 to right center field gap and 270 to right field line, and wind always blowing (usually out) makes a pitchers dad's :ass: tight.

If there was a little Steve I would hope he gets his athleticism from his mother, as well as her looks and brains. I notice that you never mentioned in your call for good looking umps about good looking coaches:yamyam:

You know coach, you brought up something that is a pet peeve of mine. There are HS coaches out there that discourage their players and their parents from posting on TBR. Apparently, their thinking is it gives away information for an opposing team or may cause chemistry problems inside his team.

First of all, this is HS baseball, not professional. It's a sport that gets little recognition from the media. We are a board not noted for inflamming a player or its team. The value of mentioning a player's achievements far outweigh the possible "scouting" of a team or any other potential problem it may cause.
