Got to take the good with the bad

Parkland falls to SW Guilford 12-2
It was not a good night for the Mustangs. The Cowboys capitalized on some early game errors.

    SW Guilford 330 06 - 12 9 2
    Parkland 010 10 - 2 5 4

Happy for coach Smith and the Titans. They have played tough all year with minimal offense (Johnson and Freeman have been great). Smith had a great quote in the paper the other day after about their 3rd hard luck loss in a row: "our luck continues to be stellar." Almost fell out of my chair laughing.

CVAC FOARD 14 NEWTON CONOVER 3

Tigers score 3 runs in top of 1st on a single, int bb, hit batter and a double. newton answers with 2 in bottom of 1st. Foard breaks game open in top of 3rd with 7 runs by a combination of hits and NC errors. Newton scores an unearned run in bottom of 3rd and tigers complete scoring with a run in the 5th and 3 more in the 6th for the final score of 14 to 3. Tigers hustled and seemed a whole lot more focused tonight, rumor has it there was a lot of running at practice yesterday. Andrew Wyant picks up the complete game win allowing 4 hits,0bb, 6k's. Leading hitters for tigers Landon Isenhour 3/5, Chad Rothlin 2/5 2b, Gage Ward 2/4 2b, Wyant 2/2 2b, 2 walks, Jason Jinorio 2/2 2b. Friday night should be fun with batsandballs29 and the indians comming to tigerland, 1st meeting this year was a 2/1 win for the indians, with both pitchers from that game throwing tonight, probable starters for friday, Rowe for saint and Rothlin for foard. Circle the wagons tigers the Indians are comming.

    Orange at Southern Alamance

    Orange 6
    Southern 3

Tommy Wright gets the complete game win for Orange. Wright was impressive tonight. Jeremy Stalker gets the loss for the Patriots. Stalker struck out 8 and only gave up 2 earned runs. The 2 runs were a massive bomb by Larry McDonald for the Panthers. Orange looked like a mature athletic team that is poised to make a nice run come playoff time.

    Southern 12-7, 6-1

NM's school web site shows them at 13-2 after their win over WC on 4/15/08. Is there a game missing?

    East Rowan 10 Statesville 0

East Rowan improved to 16-2 overall and 12-0 in the NPC by defeating Stateville 10-0. Cody Laws threw his third shutout of the season and improved to 7-0. This is a team no one wants to face right now as they have become healthy and won their last 12 in a row.

The future is bright as well as 3 of their top 4 pitchers return next year and the jayvees won yesterday, 31-0.

Yes East Rowan is the real deal, however there is no need to post a score of 31-0 in the JV game. Everyone in the NPC is well aware of what the JV Coaches at Statesville have to work with.

31-0 lots of class. Bet they are proud.
