    Protest the game

Protest the game and make sure the ump is aware that you will hold them responsible for any injury...

It will get fixed one way or the other immediately.
Broken equiptment has no place in the game.

That bat is not the Lady Virus,it is however the fastpitch Virus which is a legal bat.

    Bat

Spoke to rep for Combat and she stated that about 1% of the Combat Bats have had this happen and the end cap is made so it can not be put back on and stay. One reason is to not allow illegal activity, removing the plug and stuffing bat, etc, the other is to prevent injury as the composite bat gets hotter the more it is used.
I remember the old H/B bats doing the same thing and have seen the Catalyst break off at handle.
Like all equipment U must not abuse it!

Hey those bats are pretty darn good.

My 10u daughter recently had the same thing happen to her virus bat.
Sent it back several weeks ago and have heard nothing from combat.
Does anyone know how long it might take to get a replacement?
Had to send a rocket tech back last year and got a replacement pronto. I'm beginning to get worried about this one. And she's bugging the heck outta me because, of course, she can't hit well with "anything else".
It sounds like combat is having more than a 1% problem with the endcap.

    Oh

Have you heard of more than these two incidents? I know of one more. How many more do you know about and how many bats have they sold? Just curious.

Contact Tiffany Tollerson with Combat and let her know you are having a problem getting your bat. I know a guy that had his bat back in seven days when his daughter had an issue with a bat. I think if you are willing to pay overnight charge any bat manufacturer will send it in that fashion as long as all data required is provided. Good luck.

    I would be concerned...

It shouldn't take any company several weeks to get a replacement to you. My DD broke her Miken bat (snapped at the neck) and we got a replacement within a week.

One thing to remember... Do not use the composite bats in batting cages, with out door pitching machines, hit sticks, hit aways, etc. Those balls typically don't compress like regular softballs and can break the composite bats. Wonder if that can make the tops pop off some bats??? We make our girls use old, cheaper bats against anything but real softballs. It is very odd to hear the 'ping' when they use the old bats...

    Yes

Hitting these balls could cause a crack in bat which would cause top plug to release.
