I don't know about anyone else but I try hard to teach my kids better morals and rude ppl just show them different. All I am saying know matter who when or where we should care about ppl no matter whats going on just as we would want them to care about us.

    Pitcher Wins!

In every game, there is a battle between the pitcher and the opposing batters to see who will own the inside corner of the plate. Sounds like your DD fought mightily to possess the coveted inside corner. However, it appears that the pitcher was a bit more determined, and was willing to give up a baserunner to send a message that SHE owned the entire plate during that game! I wasn't there, and don't know either team, but most varsity pitchers don't miss twice in the same at-bat by accident.

Sorry it happened, and your kid showed BIG guts to crowd that plate again after being hit the first time, but the pitcher won that battle.....and probably the game, too! (whoever owns the plate usually wins...)

Dust her off, pat her on the back for getting on-base, and get her back in the game. As far as the parents yelling; players don't hear that garbage if they are focused on the game.

You wanted opinions....and that is mine. Good Luck in the future!

    Seems like...

The reason for the post was lost in some of the responses.

We should all be appauled at the behavior of ANYONE (including some of the posters on this board) who wanted to just get the game going again. This is about the GIRLS PERIOD! Nobody wants to see anyone get hurt. Want proof, read some of the other threads on this board and witness the outpouring of support for any girl that has had an injury or worse.

As a coach, I would have been one of the first ones over there with a bag of ice to see if she was okay and would have told the opposing coach to take as long as they needed to get her back in the game. I also guarantee that if it was any of our parents acting like that, I would have asked them to leave the field and not come back!

Come on people, there is no time limit in HS ball and it is about the girls!

    Your very welcome!

The only reason I coach is because I love the game, love teaching the girls. and love seeing the girls succeed at a game that they also love. Wow, that's a lot of love!!! :xyxthumbs:

Hey, we all know this game is about the girls!! but they asked for opinions and they got some and a few they didn't like. If I was the opposing coach I am not sure if I would go over to see how she was right then but would go over during the inning break to check on her. It is the umpires duty to keep the game moving and can not hold up the game because of an injury if the injured player is not on the field. Either make a substitution or get the player out on the field. I guarantee that I would also be SCREAMING " LET'S PLAY BALL"
Now as far as asking me to leave and not come back if you were the coach, be real, first it is a public place and second, your not big enough to make me leave.

    Public Place?

    Can Am,
I have seen several posts on here where you were described as a very good person just having some fun. I think that is probably true. However, regardless of the situation, if I asked one of my parents or a fan of my team to refrain from something that I felt was detrimental to the game or either team, I would expect them to comply. Should they choose not to I would ask them to leave. (Even if they needed to take their DD with them) The Softball field belongs to the school, I, as Head Coach, am the Administrator of that facility during practices and games. As far as not being big enough, again I think you were joking but, you would leave. With or without a Deputy's assistance.

    FIRST,

please learn to use some puctuation please! That is just hard to read.

    Second,
Javelincatcher said nothing about asking the fans to settle down just said that would tell them to leave. NOPE YOU WOULD CALL THE DEPUTY THen I would leave, ASK FIRST like you said jester and would get a better response. then ask to leave if they don't.

You can ask some people here that I am a good person and care about how the game is played and care about the girls playing. BUT I will also state my OPINION when asked and if you don't like don't say anything.

Now tell me, just where was any disrespect shown to anyone when the fans yelled out " let's play ball". The injured player was out of the field of play getting attention to their injury, So why was the game not being played?

And YES, my DD has been injured and the game went on!!!!!!!! So why not this time?????
