    on- deck

yes, I was thinking the same thing by looking at the pictures .............the on-deck batter looked too close to the play, almost "getting in the way".

Nice observation Eyesup.Blazing speed forces errors and missed calls

I have seen this young player called out before (when she was videoed safe) because no one should beat out a ball hit to the second baseman. I have also seen her tag up from third and score on an infield fly to second. The defense was stunned and caught off guard. On this play Saturday, it is possible that the ump thought she was crazy breaking past the third baseman who had the ball in her hand and gave her no chance. Blazing speed disrupts defense, and in this case led to a forced high wide throw, which enabled the runner to score.
BTW..my only intention is to get the facts out. The call was missed. It happens in almost every game. This one hurt more than most. Umps are not perfect and either are we.
At the end of the day, Kudos to Central Davidson for coming to Central Park and putting up a "W" They are a quality organization from top to bottom. As is Alexander Central. Thanks to all for such an exciting game.
These girls are good! The coaches are Legends of the game.

Any video of every other play at every other base during the game?

The photos prove only two things. One; the photographer is very good at what he does. Two; this play was as good as it gets. Great slide, great defensive play.

Out or safe? The photos could support either. Maybe the runner's hand had missed the plate at the time of the tag. It appears she could have had her hand to the right of the plate. It looks like she swept her hand across the plate after the tag.
