CVAC Standings at the half way point of the conference season.

    #1 St. Stephens 11-0 12-1
    #2 Fred T. Foard 10-1 13-2
    #3 Bandys 8-2 9-6
    #4 Hibriten 8-3 10-4
    #5 Maiden 6-5 6-6
    #6 Newton-Conover 4-7 6-8
    #7 Bunker Hill 3-7 4-8
    #8 Patton 2-9 2-10
    #9 Hickory 1-9 1-9
    #10 West Caldwell 0-11 0-12

The Saint/ Foard match up will determine the champ IMHO. Saint won the first meeting by one run. It will be hard to beat Julia ANY Time of the year, she looks really strong! Bandys and Hibriten will be for the 2A part of conference. With Maiden, you just never know which team will show up. NC played them close the first time and even the second time until about 5 costly errors in the field in the 5th inning put the game away. Bunker Hill is better than they show, IF they would just leave their line-up alone...LOL I know a lot of their players. Newton loses #4 batter from their line up due to injury for the next 3 weeks. The top four are the only ones swinging the bat. Newton also has another head coach shake up to deal with. They might just play for pride now. Patton, Hickory, and West Caldwell are all ready for school to let out.

***All of these are just my opinion***

:yamyam:Any recipes for foot will be appreciated. I'll have to eat some crow with it and humble pie for dessert. Triton swept Harnett central and looks to have a lock on CFVC regular season.:bigcry::bigcry:

    OK, here we go.....

I jinxed St. Stephens as they lost to Hibriten. Hibriten is playing better than anyone right now and it looks like they are getting the bats to go along with pitching. Since our conference is split 2A/3A, I will go with the St. Stephens vs Foard winner to win it all overall. Then the 2A winner should be Hibriten if they keep playing well. Look out for Mike Carpenter's young Bandys team to make some surprises. You never know with Maiden, Newton-Conover, and Bunker Hill which team will show....should be exciting the next two weeks. Chelsea Cullars (Fr. 3rd/C) could possibly be released to play next week following a check up next Monday. The Red Devils are riddled with injuries and should have limited games left. Maybe we can get the school to work on the field a little more?????:builder2::whoosh2:

    Prediction

Your prediction may be correct, however; let's discuss dominance for the Butler Bulldogs (stats according to Charlotte Observer this morning)

    Pitcher #1 (Orr): 10 - 0 with a 0.00 era
    Pitcher #2 (Spurrier): 5-0 with a 0.00 era

Team record: 15 - 0 with 2 wins against the team ranked #9 in state, 1 win against the team ranked #7 in state. Also 2 wins agains a team ranked # 10 in state two weeks ago and 1 win against a top 15 team for most of the year.

0.00 era with 6 high quality wins is pretty dominant at this stage.

You are correct, it will be fun to see how it all plays out!

West Lincoln, Cherryville, and North Lincoln all tied at top with 2 losses.
East Lincoln with 3 losses and South Iredell with 4 are not that far behind (if these are not correct, someone please let me know).

Most all still have games remaining with the others. Will be very interesting over the next 3 weeks of conference play.

I think you are right about West and Cherryville, but I believe North has more losses, and East may have as many as 4? I could be wrong, though.

Big game today between West and East.

    Agree

Don't want to jinx Butler but they have had some young kids step it up and Constance is better as a pitcher than "Mic" seems to think. Spurrier played at a high level all summer and did well and has shown it so far. Stamey, Morenus, Bowen have all been there before and as I said the young kids are playing great, White, Rappe, Ingersoll and others.

Morgan Peeler at Central is a great pitcher as well and CC has sticks to throw at you as well and another good young arm named Morgan. CC has several D-1 players and a good young coach.

Hopewell has a solid line-up and can score runs in many ways. Their pitching is pretty darn good with Christina and Stephanie and both these kids are strong with bat as well.

North Meck can upset anyone! AC is tough as well and will be tough in any one game match. Freedom may cause a stir as well.

Of course North Davidson with all their speed and pitching will be tough and with their Coach can find ways to win. The fact that speed never slumps may give them a slight edge over the field.

    Should be exciting!:nailbite2:

Know Constance Orr very well, outstanding pitcher !! Based on scores of 1-0 over JM Robinson, 3-2 over Hopewell, I would not say that is Dominating. I would say your pitcher kept you in the game. Not just picking on Butler, lot's of teams are winning with low scores. Guess pitching has improved. I just made a prediction, that's all.
