    JM Robinson over Hopewell

    JM Robinson - 1, Hopewell - 0

WP - Cochran, LP - Lane

JM upsets Hopewell in a real pitching duel. Lane striking out 6 for Hopewell and Cochran strikes out 7 for Robinson. The lone run scored by Robinson was a hit batter with bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the 6th inning. Both teams stranded runners throughout the game, and both teams had a couple of errors. Hopewell loaded the bases in the 7th inning with a chance to win, but a horrible call by the field umpire to call Adam Waters out on a force play at 3rd while Rusty White had just scored the tying run at the plate resulted in JM winning without having to bat in the bottom of the 7th. Both the umpire behind the plate and the one in the field missed calls all night for both teams. As was stated by the JM Robinson Athletic Director to me after the completion of the game - "what a shame for a great game like this to end on such a bad call...both guys hurt both teams all night...neither or them will be back here to ump for us again". Kudos to Robinson's Cochran for pitching such a great game and keeping Hopewell's bats in check.....and a kick in the rear-end to the ump who ended the game on such a terrible call.

    Day/Night Doubleheader and then some

5 pm start I umpired Rocky Mount vs Southern Nash: RM scores 8 runs in the first and never looks back winning 11-1 in 6 innings. Freshman Benton Moss goes to 5-0 on the season.

Game over jump in SoutherNo1 truck and head to Wilson Fike.

Giant matchup of Bentley Massey and Tyler Joyner. Wilson Fike wins 2-0 over Northern Nash. Massey throws a 3 hitter and Joyner a 4 hitter. Lots of K's for both.
Jacob Davis hits a late solo shot. David Gibbons rbi single for the first run.

Game over time to leave...BUT WAIT I am not driving so I have to wait around as Baseball Britt goes into a recruiting rampage. He is bouncing around the stands chasing any parent that has a 15 yr old kid. You ever see 6 yr olds chasing foul balls to get a piece of gum from the concession stand? What I witnessed was unreal but I have to admit he did land a few future studs.

Heck these two guys are killing me...from now on I am driving even when gas gets to 5 dollars a gallon...NO SENSE getting home at midnight from a game.

Lee County 10 Panther Creek 2

Zach Furl goes to 8-0 going the distance striking out 14 allowing 4 hits. He also gets 3 hits including a 3 run homer.

Lee County only has 9 wins this season. Unreal.
