    No coin flips...

I would hate to see one team miss the playoffs because of a coin flip. I can understand it for seeding of two teams that have already made the playoffs but if there is a tie and only one of those two teams will make the playoffs, they should play each other and the winner goes to the playoffs. JMHO.

    #6 is worthless!!!......

.....judging a team by how they sized up with the top teams in a conference is plain stupid. Take for example, 2 teams that end the reg. season tied for the last berth in the playoffs. Team A is clearly better than team B, but they split their head to head matchups as the weaker team improved, got better, as maybe the other team struggled. Past performance is an indicator of nothing. Just look at the crap involved with the NCAA basketball 64 seeding. Teams that show that they are improving are rewarded, and teams that see a fall off in their season are not rewarded. And how about this, say the #1 team in a conference knows that a team has 1 or 2 threats in their offense, so they get a lead knowing that the weaker team can't come back. The coach sends in some of the younger players, takes his starters out. However, that same #1 team, recognizes that team B has enough punch in their offense, so #1 lays the lumber to make sure theres no slip up. Bottom line to me is win more games!!!.... but if a tie does come into play.....take the field and may the best team THAT day move on.

Will there be a coin flip if North Davidson defeats West Forsyth next game and they split the confrence title, or is there a conf. tour?

We have a conference torunament, but I dont believe that the tournament had any bearing on final standings.

As I was reading this thread, I was thinking that it was about West Forsyth and North Davidson. Currently WF has no losses in conference and ND has one. The last game between WF & ND was 1-0. Their next matchup is scheduled for next Tuesday at WF at 6:30... Should be a good game to watch.

I was thinking that if ND wins, then the 1st in conference would be determined by runs given up or something like that. But after reading the earlier post, I am not sure now.

I think that would be kinda lame way to get a #1 seed for the playoffs which is really important, if there is a conf toun then it will be whoever wins that assuming ND wins next week.

    Last year

Last year we were tied for the 4th seed in the standings to go to the playoffs. We had split with the other team we were tied with. So we went to #3 in the rule book that "Blueblood" posted and played a special playoff game, given both teams had not played 3 games in the final week. We do not have a conference tournament. The winner of our game got the #4 seed out of the conference. Even though we lost that game, we were able to pull out a WC birth. Maybe that helps somebody. It can really confuse you, those rules.
