Middle Creek. There's your answer. This is an example of why it pays to walk softly and carry a big stick. FV loses to a team that is barely .500. It's baseball. It can, and definitely WILL happen.

I would bet that Jeremy Thompson had his team ready to play as I know they are well coached. He also has a lot of respect for Coach Senter at FV. I just know that any time those teams get together it can be an excellent game!

Seeing FV play they are a class act. I'm sure this loss will actually help them in the long run. Great group of young gentlemen.

Fuquay rebounds from their first loss

Fuquay bounced back from a wakeup call last night by Middle Creek by beating them 8-1 behind a great pitching preformance by Travis Bradley.

    FV vs MC

I got to check out the game Thursday, and after watching it went Friday too. The Thursday game was great. High intensity between 2 rivals. 10 or more college and pro scouts in the stands. MC looked really relaxed from the bottom of the first on. They gave up 3 runs in the first but came right back scoring 2 runs on no hits. The first run scored on an error, and a double steal got them the second run. MC was very aggresive from hit and runs, steals, to having their 2 hitter swing away with runners on 1st and 2nd and no outs with a tied score late in the game. From the head coach down to the runer for the pitcher, it looked like MC played with all the cards on the table and nothing to lose.

The second game was a good game until late when FV broke it open. Huge crowd with the MC side still buzzing about the previous night's win and the FV side ready for pay back. FV's 2nd hit hit a back side homer and their 4 hitter hit a 2 run double a couple of innings later. Looked like MC ran out of pitching after they removed their starter.

To answer the original question on this topic. FV is the real deal. Their top two hitters are as good as anyone in the state. Their #1 and #2 pitchers are very good and proabbly had 25 strikeouts over the two games. As far as MC beating them, it is a huge rivalry game, and anything can happen in those types of games. FV probably beats MC 9 out of 10 games, but in a rivalry game throw the records out the window. I think FV has a great shot at making the final four this year.

It's "speak" softly and carry a big stick. If you need to post demeaning remarks, at least get the quote right.

No one was bragging here, just interested in folks getting to know some fine young men who comprise a very good ball club.

    Who said "walk" softly?
And what situation are you referring to?
