    MPHS 5 South Meck 2

    Myers Park 5
    South Meck 2

    WP - Haley Owens
    LP - Kim White

    MP - Violet Gau 2-2 2BB
    South - Haley Huntley 2-3

Pitchers Duel through a scoreless 4. MP put up 2 in the top of the 5th on a hit and 2 walks and 3 in the top of the 6th on 3 hits and 3 walks. South countered with 2 in the bottom of the 6th on 2 hits (a triple by Brittany Crowley) and the Mustangs held on. Gritty performance to end the regular season by the Mustangs.

    South Stanly 2
    Mount Pleasant 1

    WP N. Whitley 17 SO / 1 BB / 4 hits / 1 ER
    LP K. Reynolds 12 SO / 0 BB / 2 hits / 0 ER

In a heartbreaker for Mount, very crucial game for conference standings. Hats off to both pitchers who did an outstanding job. S. Stanly's N. Whitley continues to amaze with her rise ball and caught Mounts batters time and again. Mount's K. Reynolds went to the bottom of 7 only allowing one hit. Mount scored in top of the sixth with a RBI by T. Miller. Battle continued until 3 errors in the bottom of 7 allowed South to score 2 runs for win. (both unearned). Mount's A. Starnes continues her batting strength by going 3 for 3.
S.Stanly's Umpires really earned their bonus money by making two of the worst calls at third base. Field umpire was calling one runner safe before she was even on base. One by the plate umpire in bottom of 7th, saved the runner that set up the the tying score and most likely cost the game for Mount. Runner was tagged three steps before she even reached base. Log it up to more Umpire horror stories.

Mount plays final game of regular season at West Stanly on Thursday 7:00
    MP 14-6 / 12-3 RRC

    GO TIGERS!!!

    East Meck v. Providence

    Providence 10 (15-3 / 12-2)

    WP: L. Habig (3-0) 5 IP, 2 Hits, 0 BB's, 7 K's
    LP: Parnham 4.1 IP, 13 Hits, 1 BB, 1 K, 10 Runs

Providence concludes their regular season celebrating Senior Day at home. Lone senior Maddie Fletcher went 2/4 with a double & RBI. The Panthers came ready to play and support their senior. Great hitting day! Congratulations Maddie!

    Other notables:
    L. Quant 2/2, double, 2 runs
    L. Habig, 2/3, double, 2 runs
    S. Casella 1/2 double, 2 RBIs, 1 run
    E. Quant 2/3, 1 RBI, 1 run
    K. VanderHill 2/3, 2 RBI's, 2 runs
    E. Habig 2/3, 2 runs

SW4A Conference Tournament will start Thursday. Butler will host two games Thursday as the #1 seed and Providence will host two games as the #2 seed. Providence is expected to play a 7pm game at home on the heels of a 5pm game also at PHS. State run events (such as conference tournaments, & state play-off rounds, etc) are $5 admission. I know many conference tournaments have been canceled in the last few years, but the SW4A is still having one; so if you are looking to watch some good softball the rest of this week and Monday night, stop on by one of the schools. Not sure what time Butler is hosting their games, I am also assuming they will be 5pm & 7pm with Butler playing at 7pm...Dawgfan, can you help with your end?

Second round/semi-finals will be held at Ardrey Kell Friday. Championship game is held Monday, and in the past has taken place at UNCC. As far as we all know, Championship will be held there again this year. Will have final information after tomorrow's conference meeting. Thanks to the SW4A for a great regular season!

Oh well. That leaves us in last place as we lost at Alexander tonight. Our girls did play a pretty good game tonight though. We were actually ahead for a while. Keller pitched a very good game for us.
If Reynolds won tonight that also puts them in a tie with Freedom for 2nd

    Alexander 4
    SC 2

there is no fine for forfeiting a jv game, so i'm told, but forfeiting a varsity game still means that the umps scheduled have to be paid. i'll quiz some of our senior members and find out more about this.

Butler will also host on Thursday and the Bulldogs will play Indy at 7pm with the first game beginning at 5pm.
UNCC will not be used this year due to a scheduling conflict from what I understand, the championship game is at 7pm on Monday May 5th also at Ardrey Kell.
