    CVAC FOARD 8 BANDYS 7 9 innings

With a share of the CVAC conference championship on the line for the tigers, it took extra innings to defeat a pesky Bandys team on their senior night. Trojans jump out to a 2-0 lead on tigers with a 2 run home run by senior Zach Hamby in the 1st, teams trade runs until tigers use the long ball to build a 7-4 lead thanks to home runs by Gage Ward, Robert Mckinney, and Chad Rothlin. Bandys scores an unearned run in the 4th and uses a couple of hits in the 5th to cut lead to 7-6. With 2 outs in the bottom of the 6th JW Laney hits a monster solo home run to tie the game. Foard plates a run in top of 9th for what proves to be the winning run. Chad Rothlin (4 2/3 innings 9 k's) picks up win in relief of Andrew Wyant (4 1/3 innings 8 k's). Leading hitters for tigers Jacob Bradshaw 4/5 and Mitchill Henderson 2/4. Conference tournament starts tonight with a 1st round rematch between tigers and trojans at foard.

Hey Red Bear, when we going to vegas?, remember before the season started i said 14-4 might win the conference? just did not figure 3 teams would end up 14-4. WOW what a season and still nothing decided in the 3a for state playoffs

    Errors will kill you

FOOTNOTE: Rocky Mount did not get a hit in any of the extra innings BUT had 16 hits in the first 7 innings.

    Southern is right

You got me. Going to have to dig deep in my pockets on this one. Baseball is a strange game. No way to predict what will happen. RM pounded out alot of hits and Fike did have some boys step up in crucial times. RM is a good, disciplined team, but Stretchy is right, errors seem to always find a way to hurt you.

But, I think we all agree that the officiating was great!

What officiating? I know the booking agent for the area, and he likes to keep one of those little personal recorders when watching his guys. It lets him make notes about their performance. I was told that his recorder has enough storage for about 3 hours of speaking, and it ran out of space last night.

Fortunatley for all involved, Stretchy wasn't calling this game. He was just going around trying to find out how tight all the dads were.

It certainly is funny now that his son has graduated how he finds that amusing. Stretchy can spot tight from a mile away.
