Softball Bat Performance Rating

    The current expectation (which may be wrong...) is this:

    Manufacturers will no longer be allowed to manufacture bats with an ASA approval logo subject to the current 98 MPH standards as they come out of the shrinkwrap after some date this year. Bats that were found to consistantly meet the current standard as they came of their shrinkwrap will be grandfathered (i.e. allowed to be used) for some period of time. Perhaps 2 years, maybe more.

    Newly manufactured bats must meet a standard similar to the current standard even after the bat has been broken in.

    i've got one kid on our hs team thats hit seven over the fence so far this year with this bat, only problem is the paint chips on some of the early bats, seems to be corrected on the later bats...they replaced it for free....

    Is this the 08 red/blue or the 09 red/gray rocketech? I've seen pictures of the 09 model, but I'm not sure if it has actually been released yet.

    I'm a Synergy fan. You have to have great bat speed to swing the Rocket Tech. If you've got the bat speed, it's great!

    Well i'm a rockettech guy (you're welcome cheeze) through and through but i don't get to hit with them. They seem to be a lot more forgiving than other bats. Ashley still likes her rockettech but they both have fallen in love with the DeMarini Phoenix. Both have homeruns w/ them this year.

    The 09 model of the rocket tech is now called the techzilla fp. this is a drop 10 bat with the major difference being that the outer shell in now inside the bat. plenty of pop, handles quite nice and my hs team is hitting with nothing else. they actually perfer it over the 04 rt (black bat). the bat was released for sale last week and my understanding is that 175,000 units were sold in that week without advertising......

    MY DD hits with NOTHING else but.....

    My DD has tried everything from the synergy, to the Catalyst, to the new black/purple stealth....and EVERYTHING in between.

    She continues to go back to the RT......

    Cracked 2 of the 04 models straight down the center as she had used them so much, and she outgrew her blue/red one. Someone stole her silver/red RT from the school field last year, and now, thanks to CHEEZE as CHEEZE IS the MAN!!! :Woot_Emoticon: she has the new one.... And she LOVES it!

    BY FAR, this is the absolute BEST she has ever done with hitting the ball....she has super quick hands and nice power, and those other bats just don't meet her expectations!

    Techzilla (-9) vs. Rocketech (-10)

    It looks like Anderson's bats are going to be popular again this year with the release of the new RT and Techzilla. Other than the drop and the Techzilla having a smooth exterior vs the exterior shell of the rocketech; what are the main differences of the two?

    More importantly, is there any chance that either could be banned with the changes/modifications expected to be made in the ratings of bat performance and/or production?
