    Western Harnett vs. Southern Lee

    Western Harnett 5
    Southern Lee 2

    Winning Pitcher Kerstine Womack 5K's 6H 5BB 1IBB
    Losing Pitcher Katie Holmes 3K 8H 1BB

Bats were rocking on the Western side, with crucial sac's layed down on command and the hard line drive put into play when needed. Aggressive fielding showing just what this young team is capable of.

Most Complete game for the Raiders. To little to late . Heather Nellis pitched a great game. Don't know the stats right off but the goose egg says alot.

Kasey Talley with 4 hits led the way for the Raiders. Meredith Hill, Taylor Cartner and Emily Riddle. had 2 each. Elisha Clutter with a big hit and 2 RBI's. Sure I'm leaving someone out but no stats in front of me. TOTAL team effort tonight, probably the best game for North this year.

    Weddington v. Providence (Tournament)

    Weddington 5
    Providence 0 (16-4)

    WP: Taylor Morris (4 K's, 4 Hits, 0 runs)
    LP: Leah Quant (4 K's, 3 BB's, 6 Hits, 4 runs)
    Relief: Lauren Habig (1 K, 1 BB, 2 Hits, 1 run)

    WHS Hitters:
Ali Cashion 2/4, HR, 3 RBI
    Jessica Fellmeth 2/4, 1 RBI

    PHS Hitters:
    M. Wills 2/3

Score does tell the story in this one. Providence only had four hits, but did hit the ball hard several times right at players, but couldn't see to get any momentum. Weddington made EVERY play (GREAT DEFENSE) and Taylor Morris threw the best I have seen all year. Cashion had a great night at the plate and Weddington was ready to play. It was not our night and we got our tails handed to us. It is a disappointing loss.

This does not take away what the players have done this season, especially with starting four to five freshmen every game. L. Quant has had a dominating year on the mound and is still one of the best around. She had a rough outing for other reasons, not because she was not ready to play. Our SS played with more heart these last two games than I thought possible for her as she and the family are going through the loss of a grandfather. For each kid on the team, we have a unique reason to admire them for toughing through unforeseen circumstances. We are so proud of our kids, just had some odds not in our favor these past few days. We will be ready to go in 10 days for the first round of state.
