Okay, so the final results are? :

    1 AK
    2 Weddington
    3 MP
    4 Providence
    5 Butler

That certainly has changed the playoff landscape

    Congrats to Weddington

I have no dog in the fight, but I sure enjoy watching the underdog prevail. When the proverbial experts gives a team a slim chance because of one reason or another, yet they still find a way to win.

Congrats to the underdog (Weddington) may both teams have great runs in the playoffs.:N1respectHL::N1Greatjob02:

You're right, Yankee. One must tip your hat to a great bunch of players at Weddington. They overcame many odds to get where they are. They certainly have gained my respect!

I wish them all the success in the playoffs. They deserve everything they get.

    Brad Collins- Weddington

    This is a cool story:

By now, most are familiar with Brad Collins going yard (400' blast) to jumpstart the win vs Myers Park. But what most did not know is what makes this so cool.

He was on crutches Friday with a grade 4 ankle sprain. He worked his butt off in treatment for 4 days to be able to play--he was so taped up on his left ankle he had limited mobility--actually had to hit it that far to make it around the bases.

These are the behind the scene stories that make the accomplishment's even more thrilling. Congratulations to Brad for even attempting to comeback for this game, much less being one of the heroes.

Another thing that stands out about Brad. He looks like a younger Danny Hignight, but much better looking

You are exactly right on Collins and this team has overcome a so much, a retired coach, new school opening that took all the depth and potential starters, 2 starting transfers, a varsity roster of only 11 and now the new coach being suspended 3/4 through the year now having only 2 coaches on staff and on occasion didnt even have a 1st base coach. The team has been beat up Collins on crutches, Pilkington going for stem treatments on his back for 2 weeks, Yelverton in therapy for his arm, Treasher in theropy for his back, Hunt with a sprained wrist, Jenkins nursing sore knees has caught every pitch this year as they dont have a back up catcher, they dont even have a runner for Watkins and Pilkington who has been throwing on fumes. I know all teams have thier bumps and bruises this time of year but for these 10 players who faced all this when other teams have 7-9 players ready to go. It truly is a good story. Hope they can get some rest and make a good run in the playoffs and good luck to all SW4A teams in the playoffs.
