Yes...I know there is a thread where this post should go..... I CAN NOT help myself!

For the first time since 1992, Sanderson has earned the #1 seed in the conference for the state play-offs. Both Sanderson and Millbrook finished with the same record. But, due to SHS winning two closely played games (1-0 and 2-0) during the regular season, SHS wins the top seed. The CAP 7 will send the teams below to the play-offs:

    Sanderson 8-4 15-6
    Millbrook 8-4 15-7
    Leesville 7-5 13-8
    Broughton 7-5 11-10

I have had two boys come thru Sanderson since 1998 and we never experienced a winning season until last year. My youngest is a four year starter who experienced a 1-20 season and a 3-17 season his first two years. Helped get this team into the 3rd round of the playoffs last year and can now to the top of the conference.

Heck yeah....... I can gloat a little!!!!!!

Congratulations to SHS seniors Elliot Brody, Eric Brommer, Seth Elderkin, Kyle Loose and Mark Peterson (my son) for being positive during tough times and classy young men when you reached the other end of the spectrum. Hard work is not always rewarded. Your comeback win tonight was!!

    Go Spartans!!!

Kudos to Coach Todd Laughlin at Sanderson. He took over the varsity program last season and led the team to its first post season trip since 1992 with a very young team; 2 seniors, 3 juniors and four sophmores as starters, as a #4 seed. On the way to the third round they beat two high seeded teams in Smithfield Selma and Pinecrest on the road.

This year he has a more mature team and this carried them through to the CAP 7 regular season championship in the very tough CAP 7. Best of luck to the players and Coach Laughlin.

Good luck to all CAP 7 teams that made it into the playoffs. A lot of people do not much about the Millbrook's, Leesville's and Broughton's but they all compete night in night out.

    Great Job, Spartans!

Petey and parents, Congratulations from Mac and family. You SHOULD be very proud and are allowed a little gloating. Congratulations also to Broughton who blanked Wakefield tonight to secure the 4th Cap 7 spot in the playoffs and to Millbrook, a team that played well when it mattered most.
