    This past weekend two players for the Dazzle(Miller's team) were injured. One player I know well as she plays for our middle school team. She hurt her ankle while sliding into 3rd. The other player was hurt while fielding a high fly ball into the sun on Sunday morning against our team. I spoke with one of the coaches and hope that all is well with these fine young ladies. I will pray for a safe and speedy return for them.:MEziek:

    On a brighter note, CONGRATS to Megan for hitting (correct me if I'm wrong please) 3 Home runs this weekend. I know mom is proud! Great kid, great parents.:N1YouGoGirl:

    I am interested to know if they were wearing metal cleats? I know two players on different teams that have broken their ankles just recently while wearing metal cleats and sliding into base. Just a thought =}

    Cleats

    My daughter just finished four years of college ball and never wore metal cleats after her Freshman year as they caused severe back pain and nerve issues down into her knee. The ortho told her to give up softball but we used Tanel rubber cleats and an inter-sole and she was able to have a very good career! U can be successful without steel.

    No, the player did not have metal cleats. It was just a late slide and the base did not give at the Hornets Nest field.

    ***Side note***My DD wears the rubber Tanels also!

    Yea I Was There !!!

    I saw her slide,she came in hard ,and her ankle buckled at the bag, you could tell it was going to be nasty !! I helped hold ice on her leg, to keep the swelling down !! Great kid got a lot of heart !!!

    update

    OK, talked with her parents last night. She is on crutches, but with only a mild sprain. Her growth plate is seperated, but the Dr's said that 25% of girls her age is the same way....maybe that's why it didn't break. She started orthopeadic therapy yesterday and should return to Chris Miller's Dazzle before we know it. School ball is over for her, but hey summer is just around the corner.:willy_nilly:
